Guest
Yeah right...you could relax but you'll probably pick up something after 1-2 days off...give yourself atleast a week of only training and vega stuff and you should be good
robert
I know. I have a disorder....seriously. I just don't know how to relax and not worry. I'm trying to fight through it. I go out of my way to make life more complicated than it should be, but I'm doing it for a very worthy cause and for something I'm very passionate about. Even the little things that take up my time, make a difference in the life of many. But I will take a "break" because mentally, I can't handle much more and physically I'll eventually break down too (like I did during Vegan Vacation when I was ill the whole time) No worries, I'll chill out eventually Nice back and triceps workout last night, and legs the day before and Chest/biceps before that, abs today. So I'm still after it even though every waking minute is accounted for related to work.
robert
I trained abs tonight and then took a break and hung out with an old friend (and distributed a bunch of flyers for my festival). So that is like 4 out of 5 days at the gym during this very busy time. I'm pleased with myself.
robert
I will return......oh yes, I will return to the gym. I also have some sweet photos to post at some point
robert
I trained back and shoulders last night at the Hotel. I was soooooo tired from barely any sleep, nearly 4 hours driving and working all day at the Expo but Brendan Brazier pushes himself very hard and I tagged along. He can perform at an incredibly high level with little sleep and rest. So I busted out a workout, flexed a bit and then met up with Ravi and had some dinner I think I'm back at it! I'm still a bit busy, but not as busy as I was over the past couple of months. Robert Cheeke back in Action let's make it happen.
robert
davidtarrfoster and I were back at it tonight. We trained chest and biceps. It was good to be back in the gym. I'm not nearly as busy as I've been over the past few weeks. I'll try to keep this log updated for now on.
robert
Back, arms and shoulders today. Only a full back workout and the arms and shoulder stuff were new exercises I did working with a trainer. He's having fun working with davidtarrfoster and I right now. He's just giving us some tips, some pointers, and showing us all kinds of new exercises. It's quite fun!
robert
I'm still training. Brendan Brazier is still in town, so we're training together, along with davidtarrfoster. So, things are going well. I'll update my log with more details soon and I'll get my 1 rep max lifts for Jonathan as well.

robert
I know, I just can't seem to keep up with things these days. But luckily, I'm still getting into the gym. Thanks for being patient with me. I'll get back on top of things real soon.
robert
I'm still training and bulking, just haven't kept up a very good log. Today was a killer leg day! Yesterday was shoulders. Before that we trained abs, and I did a chest and biceps workout in Canada and shoulders before I left. I also went dancing for 3 hours tonight after the leg workout. I have a raw vegan chef living with me now too, so that also helps. But I still had 4 giant burritos the last two days after workouts, mostly raw food during the days
Guest
4 giant burritos sounds good to me...thats grounds for a day or two off. You don't wanna overdue your training
robert
Today I have 3 burritos . So I guess that is 7 in the last few days, along with lots of other food. I've had some great training sessions, some of my best ever actually have been recently....just been too lazy/busy/tired/preoccupied to update it here
Odidnetne
I've been making my own burritos at home. I can't find a restaurant that makes them, and they're cheap like that. I haven't been keeping up with my training log as much as I'd like either, but it sounds like you're pounding away the calories all right.
robert
I'm still at it. I just need to keep up to date more often. I've trained the past 3 days, all solid workouts. I hit up legs tonight and it was pretty hardcore as usual. Then I went to Proper Eats with davidtarrfoster and Andesuma. I had some nachos and a burrito and Vega and now some vegan ice cream I'll try to keep a better journal from now on!
robert
As I always seem to say, I'm still training I just don't keep a very good journal! I trained legs today and it was pretty sweet. Abs were last night and before that was a rest day but before that was 3 or 4 consecutive days of hitting it pretty hard. I'm still training with davidtarrfoster and we're both making gains. I'll try to get some photos taken soon. I've been hiding out for a while
robert
Trained legs today and it was pretty awesome. davidtarrfoster and I could barely walk when it was over. It was nice! We had some Vega and watched He-Man when we got home. I also had some pasta and salsa, some apples, and some other not so healthy snacks (vegan candy and soda), but I'll make up for it with some extra greens and veggies tomorrow. Workouts have been have going well. I'm still in the 180's in weight, but I hope to keep on gaining. Must eat more, sleep more, and train about the same
robert
I've been training with Brendan Brazier again lately. It really helps me push it and stay motivated. He's a pro athlete so it's cool to see how he trains. Today I was doing a decline chest exercise and told him to watch because I was pushing 4 plates on each side (360lbs minimum) so it was cool. I got about 5 reps out of it. Granted it was a machine, but it was fun to push heavy weights. I only did about 215 on flat bench tonight even though I've done much heavier before. Here is a photo Topher took last year. Probably my best ARM photo I've seen of myself: http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210/VeganBodybuilder/forcarmen16.jpg
Gorilla
Hi Rob,Haven't spoken in a while. Looking good!I want to build more mass in my pecs this year, especially upper pecs: I think that is really important, as it is really the centrepiece of the most-muscular, and crucial for impressive side-chest/triceps poses. So I propose a contest to see how much we can boost the weight on the incline BB press and DB press!I'm trying to get into a regular routine with another guy who trains here in college - that way we can spot each other on the BB press. I reckon it's dangerous to BB press without a spotter.I'm always baffled by that scene in Pumping Iron where Arnie makes Franco laugh mid-way through his BB press when they're outside on muscle beach and Franco rests the bar with what looks like at least 100Kg on his chest - but then he can blow up a hot-water bottle so I guess he's just a superman! One of the strongest, most-defined bodybuilders ever!
robert
Sounds good! I like seeing more contests. I just don't run them anymore because I wasn't good at it in the past. Anyone can organize one so if you're interested, feel free to start one or get someone interested in starting one like Lelle is currently doing. Thanks for the comments. My chest looks small in that photo, but it is normally bigger I mostly focused on the arm there You're looking great too! Awesome to have you back on here. I'm training again tonight with Brendan Brazier. That's the plan.
robert
I took a full week off, which I'm not super excited about but I got busy and "didn't make time" to go to the gym. I was traveling quite a bit this past week and now I'm a bit under the weather. I hope to get back at it on Monday. I've got another busy weekend of meetings and traveling, but I'm trying to eat to maintain some since while I'm away from the weights. Time to go eat! Like just before the Oakland contest ("2 weeks out April 22nd, competing May 6 in Oakland"), and the November 2006 Magazine Cover. The one with Alex is really cool too! robert
I trained abs today and then sat in the Sauna for a while. It was cool. Then I went over to Proper Eats and randomly bumped into a bunch of forum members so that was cool. Good ab workout, nice sauna afterwards and some good eats over at Proper Eats with some of the crew members.

robert
They were just there randomly too, as individuals. That is the crazy thing about Portland. There are so many of us, and it's not like it was the only vegan restaurant in town. We have about 100 veg-friendly restaurants, and a bunch that are all vegan and many nearly all vegan. Just randomly there were 5 of us from the forum there tonight. That is what I absolutely love about this city.
