How to understand AI and its application in life?

Something weird happened a couple of weeks ago—I was checking out at a grocery store and noticed the self-checkout machine recommending offers based on what I usually buy. It hit me then that AI is really sneaking into everyday stuff, not just tech companies and startups. I run a small online shop and started wondering: how can I actually use AI for something meaningful in my business or even just to make my personal life easier? Right now it all feels a bit abstract—like yeah, I’ve heard of chatbots and automation, but I don’t know where to start or what’s even worth learning. Would love to hear what helped others make sense of it.

Totally hear you. For me, it started with optimizing how I manage client emails—I used a basic AI tool that sorted and flagged messages. Nothing fancy, but it saved me time. From there, I got curious and wanted to go deeper. What helped was finding something that didn’t drown me in theory but gave solid, real-life examples. I came across https://www.advisedskills.com/artificial-intelligence/artificial-intelligence-practitioner and found their approach practical. They walk you through how AI works in day-to-day situations and business without sounding like a textbook. It made stuff like predictive models or automation feel much less intimidating

Just stumbled upon this thread and found it interesting. AI is becoming part of more conversations lately, even outside tech circles. I don’t work in tech or own a business, but it’s cool to see how people are figuring out ways to use it in different areas. Curious to see how this thread evolves.
