rinata77
So I’ve been testing out some poker bots for fun, and one thing that really tripped me up is bluff handling. I had this weird hand where I knew my human opponent was probably bluffing, but my bot just folded instantly like it had zero confidence. It made me wonder — how do you even teach an AI to bluff effectively and also spot when someone else is pulling one off? Anyone played around with this or seen examples where it actually works? melissared
I set up a bot to play a few low-stakes online games, and it could do the math perfectly but had zero “feel” for when someone was just pushing chips to scare it off. I think the trick is giving it enough data on betting patterns and then letting it “learn” which moves look suspicious. Some bots even adapt mid-game, like adjusting to aggressive styles after a few rounds. If you check out https://aipokerbot.com/ you’ll see some breakdowns of how bluff detection is getting more realistic, not just number crunching. tonybil
Last week I had a buddy over for a casual game night, and it was funny watching how everyone reacted differently depending on the pressure. Some people laugh when they’re nervous, others go dead silent, and you can pick up on that if you’ve played with them a few times. It reminded me how much human behavior adds layers you don’t think about until you’re right in the middle of a long match.
