estgee
Just got a nerve block after minor hand surgery, and now my hand feels super tingly and weird. I’ve never had one before, so I’m not sure if it’s supposed to feel like this or if the block is wearing off. Anyone here know what signs actually mean it’s fading? Need some guidance before I freak out.
fr33d0santana
Hey there! That tingly, weird feeling in your hand is pretty common after a nerve block—don’t panic just yet! It’s likely the block starting to wear off, which can bring tingling, a gradual return of sensation, or even some pain creeping back. I had a nerve block for shoulder surgery a while back, and the tingling hit around 6 hours post-op, followed by some soreness. Totally freaked me out too! Signs it’s fading include increasing pain, feeling hot/cold more, or even muscle twitches. Check out this super helpful guide at these signs a nerve block is wearing off for more details. Keep an eye on it, and call your doc if it gets intense!
