rinata77
So I’ve been into watches for a few years, mostly admiring the craftsmanship and history behind them. But honestly, I can’t justify dropping ten grand on a Rolex just for the name. A buddy of mine showed me his replica GMT-Master II, and I was blown away — looked and felt almost real. Now I’m kinda torn. Is it really that bad to wear a high-quality replica just because you love the design, not to fool anyone? I’m curious how others see it ethically. melissared
I get where you’re coming from. I used to think replicas were all junk until I saw some of the modern ones — they’ve gotten crazy good. I picked up one a while back from a site that compared different models, and the best clone gmt master ii honestly surprised me. I wear it on weekends without pretending it’s the real deal, and for me it’s more about enjoying the design than showing off. I think it’s fine as long as you’re not trying to pass it off as genuine. tonybil
I’ve noticed a lot more people going for replicas lately, and not necessarily because they’re trying to fake status — sometimes it’s just practicality. Some original watches are too expensive to even consider wearing daily, especially with how rough commuting or travel can be on them. I think people just want something nice on their wrist that won’t make them paranoid about scratches or theft.
