robert
These are the hot spots for the places with the most forum members. I'd say Germany would be 4th. In each of these places (Texas, Oregon, and Toronto) we have people actively promoting the website, forum, and the vegan bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle. I'd like to think of Oregon as the #1 spot since I'm from here, but we just got two new members from Texas today and I think Texas is still the most represented place on the forum. So if you're in one of the places, keep on battling for the top spot. I haven't actually counted any numbers, but I'd guess the member rankings go something like this: 1. Texas2. Oregon3. Toronto4. Germany5. California Please tell your friends to join the team. Hopefully we'll be able to continue to do meet-ups in all of these areas mentioned and many other places (such as Holland which is on our calender of meet-ups scheduled, and Washington D.C. as well)
loveliberate
I spent more time in Texas than anywhere else when I was a young 'un... I still think Oregon is number 1 per capita as we have a smaller population than even the greater Toronto area...
Crystal
And Texas is a HUGE state. It would take me a day to travel to any of the other major Texas cities. El Paso is really more like New Mexico, or occupied Mexico. But us Texans will prevail!
robert
Is that a challenge? Once I officially move to Portland....THERE IS NO STOPPING OREGON FROM BEING #

Fine - you count all of Ontario and we'll count all of Cascadia! Between Eugene, Corvallis, Portland, Olympia, Seattle, Bellingham, Vancouver & Victoria - not to mention all the other great Cascadian towns and cities - we will bring down the righteous and oh so glorious VEGAN THUNDAH! All WILL be assimilated!

Cascadia includes those places but is still smaller than the province of Ontario. Plus much cooler! Oooo, I said it! Come get some!

loveliberate
I'll take bioregions over states, provinces or countries any day. And I'm just kidding with you amigo - though Cascadia IS pretty dang awesome! When ya come out for the Vegan Vacation, I'd love to show you around Portland and Cascadia. robert
That's the right kind of attitude There are some great things about Texas and those are the things to focus on about the Lone Star State.
loveliberate
Texas has tons of great things going for it and gets much more of a bad rap than it deserves. It's awesome that so many forum folks are from there! There are so many cool people and places just about everywhere you go.
wannalift
when i drove across the country, i made it a point to only drive through the panhandle of texas and didn't get out of my car once. the sooner i got through texas, the better.

Odidnetne
Are there even that many Pennsylvania residents? I can only think of a couple, but I can't think of any for a LOT of states.
robert
We gotta keep working harder to reach more people. It is a full-time job for me. I have nearly 5,000 "friends" on myspace (50% or more of them are vegans) and I try to get them to join us. Many of them have. We have our clothing and movies in over 30 US States so we're still supported farily well from all around the country. Feel free to tell your friends to join us. I have a thread about ways to promote this lifestyle and this website and I might bring it back up to the surface soon. Keep on rockin it man! Let's get more and more from PA and everywhere else Healthy Food Defines You
Odidnetne
Well, I have never gotten a person to go vegan (1 vegetarian, and 1 pescatarian though), though I have upped the amount of plants my friends eat. Not to sound like a quitter or anything, but I live in the corner of "Meat and Potatoes" conservative Pennsylvania, so I have a bit of an extra task talking to people who think you need 7 pounds of protein a day, and that it all needs to come from cow, but I try. I might get a vegan sooner or later.
loveliberate
Odidnetne, Everything counts and just getting folks to be more open to veganism and/or eating more healthfully is a step in the right direction... Positive peer pressure can be very helpful too. For example, you can bring some of your friends out for the Vegan Vacation gathering and surround them with great vegan folks! robert
Hey Texas and Toronto - 3 new members from Oregon this week! ....and still counting. We'll get a few more before week's end. I think it is great that we have people from all over, it is really encouraging. Part of the fun is discovering all the vegans within the same geographical area. I'm super psyched about all the vegans from Portland who have recently joined because we all get to hang out. I know there are vegans everywhere so hopefully they'll discover our forum soon you we can all make new like-minded friends in our general geographical area. And if you can't find too many nearby.....come join us for a week in Portland in August.
endcruelty
you probably just walk around the streets of portland and tell everyone on the streets to come here or you'll knock them in the face

robert
No, remember I'm a peaceful warrior. I'm too nice at times, in fact. But maybe they think that and just login to be safe It's all about expanding the community, especially local communities so then we can spend time together. I haven't officially moved to Portland yet (I will July 1st) but I've already had a such a great welcome feeling from the city and residents. And I'm just really determined to make Oregon on top of the list of forum members.....afterall....we can't lose to Texas! Just kidding....I've been to Texas twice and enjoyed it both times. I haven't been to Toronto yet...but plan on it soon, as well as return trip to Germany in the not too distant future perhaps.....showdown with Daywalker P.S. endcruelty....I just got my friend from Toronto to say hi, so I gave you a head start! robert
Right now there are only Oregonians on board, just the 3 of us from Portland and Salem. Of course most people are sleeping at 1AM PST. We welcomed a new Oregonian tonight, Chrismiles. So our regional community is growing, which is exciting!
