Meaningful Movie Night with Chef Al and Donna!!!

Greetings on this fine summer day...

Chef Al and Donna are happy to announce the Meaningful Movie Night

Series. These movie nights are intended to share important information

about food and animal rights issues, build community and provide a fun

and empowering vehicle to educate newcomers to this information and

enhance those on the path already with reminders of why we welcome

veganism into our lives. Participants need not be vegan or vegetarian,

just willing to be open to new information. (These evenings are

inspired by our participation with NWVeg and wanting an additional

place to gather.)

The format of the evenings are as follows:

Arrival Time: 6:25-6:30pm

6:30pm is the start time where we will introduce ourselves and the

movie of the evening;

movie showing;

Q & A/discussion time.

Chef Al's Organic Vegan snack(s) and herbal tea will be provided each

time -- sometimes savory, sometimes sweet (note from Donna, always

delicious).

We ask that you RSVP for the evenings that you want to attend by

e-mailing [email protected] or calling 503.235.0108 between 9am and

8pm. At this time and through the end of September, the evenings are

hosted out of our home in northeast Portland near 34th and

Killingsworth. We may move it to a location nearby that has more room

in the future, so keep in touch for any changes to the schedule or

location. The chef will be preparing food in advance and space is

limited to 22 so it is important to RSVP (preferably at least 2 days

before each event). Once you RSVP, we will provide you with the exact

address. Please be sure to leave your phone numbers and e-mail address

just in case you do not reach us directly. Donations to honor our time

and food costs are accepted but we will not turn anyone away due to

lack of funds. We appreciate your interest and invite you to review

the schedule below. Please note that the evenings are on Thursdays

except for the last week of the month it is on a Wednesday.

Sorry I forgot to mention it ahead of time. We watched Eating, 2nd Edition over at Chef Al's house tonight. We had 12 people, so it was a nice turnout.

Next week we are watching Vegan Fitness Built Naturally and I'll be the guest presenter

So come on out and hang out!

Call me for directions and to find out which exact day next week. I think it's on the 8th, but check back for further updates.

Dude, I know. I was totally going to call you but thought you had practice tonight....and I was going to be in a hurry afterward and wouldn't be able to hang out much.

But yeah, for sure man. I didn't call anyone this time, I was pretty busy and barely made it there on time.

We need to get together for sure soon anyway. Later bro,

They have a donation basket because the Chef provides snacks and treats (so he has some costs to buy the foods and time to prepare them).

Not everyone leaves a donation, but I try to each time, to cover the great food and hosting the event for all of us.

We'll be there tonight (Thursday) for my movie, and I know many have seen it, including myself of course, but it's just a fun time to get a great group of folks together.

If I haven't already, I'll post their full schedule of upcoming movie nights.
