We will have many thousands of miles of companionship to share...I've already got 175 on her in three days.
sensless
Don't your legs get all chaffed from riding so much? My legs would rub together so badly on a bike I just gave up on riding, but perhaps I was just on the wrong type of seat or sitting wrong. -Sensless
Guest
Seats are really important...mine is solid carbon fiber with no padding at all...my old seat was thin but had decent padding and its not as comfortable as my newer seat. Also cyclists wear shorts with a pad...for most thats enough to prevent chaffing but some people use this chaffing cream goup they rub into the pad. I don't really need it(never tried it). However I did get pretty sore in the rear on my 500mile week...normaly anything under 60miles does nothing to the rear area...I get a bit sore after that but its normally bearable. finbarrio
Sweet ride, potter. Carbon forks, seatstay, chainstay, seatpost, I assume? What upgrades did you put on? Wheels, cranks, headset? Guest
Sweet bike VEGANDUDE(even though its not yours)...it would be great for groceries and things. As for upgrades...I've got the world's lightest crankset(also the seconds stiffest)...your right on the carbon, I got low weight bottle cages, wing bars(not carbon yet), shimano 550 wheels which are lighter and much better than my last set of training wheels, also Vitoria Rubino tyres with a 145lb max pressure...not overdoing it yet but my next upgrade will be dura-ace deraillers Why'd you get such a small photo of your road bike??? Are you not so proud of it. SeanD...you've gotta try entering a 24hr race for kicks
VeganDude
They are not for groceries. These are race trike's. 2 wheel drive. To give you an idea, the current world champion(Dave Keene) also has the 100 mile record - 4:00:01 or 40,17 km/u.Thats pretty good I'd say

That's the excuse I've been using! Seriously though, after riding about 2 or 3 miles on a bike my upper legs seem to swell up quite a bit and just rub horribly on the seat. I've tried wearing the spandex (after destroying a number of pairs of boxers and boxer briefs) but it didn't seem to matter. Perhaps I'll have to look into the pad and cream stuff next year so I can finally dust off my bike and ride it around again. I haven't ridden in two years now because of this. robert
Yeah, I know it can be a problem. Potter has massive quads and he seems to do well. My legs aren't big enough yet to make it an issue. My biggest problem is I don't wear padded shorts and my butt always hurts. I don't have pics of a bike because I don't have one. I should since I live in Portland - the biking capital of the US. P.S. Awesome photo Finn!
Guest
Some bike shops will let you buy a saddle and try it for a couple day and let you exchange it as much as you want to find the perfect seat...maybe thats your best bet...padding can be your enemy since it can make you feel comfortable but put pressure on points you don't want any pressure...causing prostate problems while you think you're comfy. ***Rob...you've definately gotta get a bike...or atleast a bike rack so you can take me to the track all the time
