Freddy25
In the last edition of "muscle and fitness" is mentioned, hemp protein should be taken before going to bed. Does hemp protein make sleepy?
jonzen
I get sleepy about 30 minutes after drinking one of my protein shakes....either soy or hemp or pea. Maybe it's just the protein part? The body has to digest all this stuff and so it goes into a semi-shutdown mode? All this is just me wondering, there is no science behind my observations. I don't mind the sleepiness after a protein shake and hard workout session...a 15-30 minute nap does wonders! John
Last of the Sane
Not to my knowledge. I think the reason hemp protein should be taken before bed is that it is absorbed very slow. So your muscles can keep growing the whole night
Guest
Yeah...I think its purely for extra recovery purposes...that said I've always eaten most of my protein later in the day and before I slept...moreso now that I'm a cyclist. Also I've had a diagnosed sleep disorder since I was ten years old and no protein I've tried has helped me sleep over another...I haven't tried hemp protein until relatively recently but it seems no different in that department...I do feel like I'm recovering better though
