loveliberate
I also definitely want to travel a lot more outside the US. From what little I've experienced so far & from lots of reading & online research I remain unconvinced that other countries are so much better overall, particularly England &/or the UK... Everywhere has it's good & bad points & can be better than other places in some ways, for some things or for some people. I'd love to hear about people's favorite places! Odidnetne
SeaSiren, what do the US school systems put emphasis on then? When I was in school (graduated in 2003), the answer was "nothing", "Watching American Idol", or "Do what you're told and don't question people "higher" than you." buzz
Haha, I am well aware of the geography of the English island. It's really all I can do to consider England a country, much less those two tiny patches of grass on either side. I mean really, we have to draw the line somewhere? So, for now England shall remain an island until I am convinced otherwise. I find this shit really offensive. I'm not sure if you're joking or not, but why do you think the size of a country have anything to do with it's status?

I'm not sure if you're joking or not, but why do you think the size of a country have anything to do with it's status? Now now, hold on to your haggis samosas mate. I am joking and not joking. I do find it amusing the way every few acres of grass in europe is called a country. So what? Even having some understanding of the geography of England, it was still somewhat shocking to see first hand just how tiny it is and Scotland even tinier. It makes no difference though, I love the place and the people in it. So, get out your sense of humor and have a laugh at yourself. If I were to take great offense every time someone on VF takes a jab at the US, I would spend my entire life being upset. I could compile the encyclopedia of anti-americanism using just quotes from VF. And those comments arent in good humor as mine were.
