Kathryn
How is this pronounced? I think of it as "VAY-ga" (don't know why: I don't say "VAY-gun"! But I do say "Las VAY-gus") . But is it "VEE-ga"? (as in "VEE-gun"?) Makes more sense, but doesn't sound as nice to me.
Richard
because I am british and superior, I pronounce it VAY GUH. But at any rate, the first bit better be 'VAY' because if it's 'VEE' then everyone sucks
Odidnetne
I say "Vee-gah", but that's because, to me, it's like Vegan minus the 'n'.

Richard
check out the downloads section on the site: http://www.myvega.com/resources/downloads.asp they tell you pretty much straight away that I was always right. You can download or listen to a radio show there, and you hear the word pronounced. However, the presenter does say 'vaygun' instead of 'vegan' which means she sucks. But Brendan says 'vay gah', and based on his hair style, I'd go with him as an authority.
Odidnetne
But we all live in different parts of the world, and pronounce things differently. That's why we think Canadians say "A boot".
Richard
I've heard some actors saying 'aboot' and I assumed they were canadian because I keep hearing people say that about Canadians. But when I researched it, none of them were Canadian, they were all American. So that just goes to show that Brendan's hair is what really matters

robert
You are all wrong. It is pronounced: Brendan Brazier and Robert Cheeke hehe, Actually, it is Vay-Guh or Vay-ga, however people are writing it. It is named after the brightest star in it's Constallation, and Vega is the 5th brightest star in the Solar System or Universe, whatever it's called. Vega is the star that all other stars are measured up to. Lots of thought was put into the name and there is a great story behind the name, just as there is a great story behind the product, and behind the formulator, Brendan Brazier. So go out there and enjoy your Vay-Guh!
Odidnetne
So that would mean it's more like the Spanish-esque name, and with less pronounciation (spelling?) on the "Vay", which a lot of people tend to stretch?
loveliberate
I am Zfaeterzsw, a Vay-Gun from the Planet Vay-Guh #199 - take me to this planet's most highly life-forms, the ones you call "blue-green algaes"!
michael
I think that what Robert is alluding to is that the star Vega's white color and apparent brightness made it a basic standard against which the apparent magnitudes of other stars are compared. (Its magnitude value is "0").
