Vixen
I have always had trouble skipping rope and I really want to be able to do it so I can get a good cardio workout. Does anyone have any strategies or tips for me? Thanks
Guest
If you give one good serious hour of learning to skip(doing nothing special) you'll quickly be able to do 4-5 minutes without hitting your feet. After you get comfy...soon your heart will relax and you'll have to put in a bigger effort to get your HR up. Its a weird movement for adults that haven't been doing it for a long time so it makes your HR jump without working hard...give it time and deal with the learning curve stress and you'll realize that its not really all that bad. I was that way with running for a while since I rarely ever ran more than 1/2 mile before I started cycling...despite the fact that I could ride my bike 100miles fairly easily I had trouble keeping my HR down for a trotting mile or two but now I can run for an hour without my HR going much over 140.
