VegaNick
So I've been eating pretty raw lately, and feeling fine. This morning for breakfast i had some sundried unsweetened bing cherries, and raw cashews and almonds. I puked my guts up. I thought you could only get sick from bad meat and dairy. Am I going through detox? ive been vegan for like four years now.

It may have been that the nuts were rancid or the dried fruit was old/off.... Stick with ripe/fresh produce.
oregonisaac
Were the nuts soaked so you can absorb the nutrition (maybe for too long without rinsing)? Soaking is good, but if you soak to long and forget to swap the water out it is good to do a raw apple cider vinegar soak/rinse to get rid of bacteria (or if you are not a penny pincher like me to throw it out and start over). I agree, there is lot a lot of information there to really give an answer, but that is a shot in the dark...

VegaNick
I don't know veganpotter, it said they were organic, but I guess that doesn't mean too much these days. And as for soaking I have never heard of it, I'll definently look into it.
Trev
I just spent 24 hours puking because of rancid nuts that were in a dish I had on Sat night (at my favourite local vegan restaurant too ). I'm done with all nuts - no more! I just don't trust them. I didn't eat too many anyway, but I think there's a high likelyhood of them being rancid. That may have been what happened to you, VegaNick. Good call! I have been almost devoid of nuts for a couple weeks, with the exception of a few Brazil nuts each day for selenium (each one holds 110% of your RDA by my calculations).
