Tonight for dinner we made vegan sushi for the first time ever. Brown rice, orange bell pepper, cucumber and yam. Next time we have to make the rolls a little smaller. We also made miso soup with arame sea veggies in it.

Okay, okay, we forgot to do the avocado rolls! We even had a ripe one sitting in the fruit bowl on the dinner table.

It was kind of a test run - we're going to do a big proper vegan sushi night with friends soon. You're invited if you're up here in Vancouver!

I just noticed the Vega bottle too! Product placement! That's the one I got from you, Robert, at the Taste of Health last Sept. It goes to work with me and to kickboxing all the time.

wow.. i really like the plates... and the sushi too.. they both look incredible!

We picked up the plates in Japan town in San Francisco last October. First time we've ever used them for Japanese food.

Skipping out on the avocado rolls is an unforgiveable sin. Just kidding, what you had though was awesome, I've really wanted to get into making my own vegan sushi, instead of paying some ridiculous amount of money at nearby sushi bars.

So when is this vegan sushi party & what's the fastest route to ya'll's place from Portland?

1. Whenever ya'll get here.

2. I-5 - straight north! Once you cross the border, Hwy 99 into the city of Vancouver, keep going through downtown, through Stanley Park, over the Lion's Gate Bridge, bear right into North Vancouver at the other end, left on Capilano Rd, Right on Hwy 1, couple more blocks and you're there. Should take you about 6 hours observing posted speed limits at least part of the way. Or you could fly, and then forget about the I-5 part.
