robert
Yeah, isn't if strange that "these days" vegetarian refers not to someone who eats plants, but to someone who eats Dairy and Eggs! This really needs to change!!!!

This really needs to change!!!! I don't know Rob, I remember reading someone saying that it's cooler to be Vegan because it's easier to spell than Vegetarian...I think we deserve that for omitting all the animal products from our diets. robert
I like the term vegan, I just don't like what vegetarian implies these days and it is getting worse and worse and worse! In some regions, people use vegetarian when referring to someone who eats fish but avoids "most" other meats. Some "vegetarians" these days eat chicken too. Of course we don't consider them to be vegetarian (eating food derived from plants) but others in mainstream culture do! That is the scary part. Our society is accepting it at an alarming rate!!!! I should write some kind of essay on it, I name this trend "Title inflation", people want to be mysterious and cool, and so not eating beef makes you a vegetarian now. Guest
Yeah, isn't if strange that "these days" vegetarian refers not to someone who eats plants, but to someone who eats Dairy and Eggs! This really needs to change!!!! Thing is they aren't even vegetarian since milk and eggs have never been vegetables. Its really dumb. Just imagine someone who only eats dairy, eggs and nothing else. How ridiculous. Even VEGAN is getting mixed up with things. There are non vegan grocery store owning vegans, honey eating vegans...all kinds of vegans. Are we gonna need to make another word for ourselves???
andgbr
You Could Maybe Be a Vegetarian http://images.blogthings.com/couldyoubeavegetarianquiz/vegetarian-2.jpg You may think being vegetarian is a great idea, but you don't have all the tools to get started.Find a local vegetarian group or buy a few vegetarian books. Even if you don't go completely veggie, you can introduce more vegetarian foods into your diet! Could You Be a Vegetarian? http://www.blogthings.com/couldyoubeavegetarianquiz/ lol.. omg, that's hilarious!

Richard
Hurr, I don't see how most of those things are linked with being able to become vegetarian. Before I became vegetarian I didn't fit into those categories at all, and I made the transition in about 1 week. Then later in life I made the transition to vegan in 1 day, even though I didn't know any vegans, and still really liked dairy, and didn't eat many vegetables, etc etc. I think the main thing is compassion, logic and determination / being able to be honest with yourself. If you don't have those abilities, you might find it hard to do, because you either don't care enough, or you don't see the reason for it, or you deceive yourself to the extent that you're making a decision that you know to be selfish just because it suits you. Yeah I also get tired of the words 'vegetarianism' and 'veganism'. They seem to mean less and less as more people use them, and are basically lazy / selfish, so the words seem to define those people these days. I'd like another word like compassionatarian or something...
C.O.
I took the quiz. It said "Die you fish eating bastard!" The picture that went along with it was too graphic to post.. I don't call myself a vegetarian at least! I call myself.... not committed. I eat a vegan diet about 70-75% of the time but I have fish like once a week and dairy 2-3 times a week. Hey moderators quit trying to convert me I am too lazy to be vegan it will never work..
