VeganEssentials Posted August 15, 2007 Share Posted August 15, 2007 Definitely a great squat set, but looks are deceiving on the weight side. It's 255kg (561 lbs), so while it's still very heavy, it's loaded to the equivalent of what would look like 700+ lbs. with standard plates. He's obviously using some wide plates since the bar is so full, but still, those were some easy reps for over 500 lbs for sure! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
wannalift Posted August 15, 2007 Share Posted August 15, 2007 cosigned what VE said. the world record is more than twice that amount of weight. although that's with both kinds of gear being used. not sure what the RAW record is, but Taranenko could do a full squat with a 2 second pause at the bottom with 837.
