Zack
I'm always reading about how people have to prepare kale in special ways, or have it in green smoothies to tolerate. Am I the only one who loves it just by itself?

Richard
I like it steamed with some salt and pepper, and it goes well with other veg. But I think that raw it could be too intense for me

ljk11
I only like the black kale...well, it's dark green, but called "black" and it's also called Lacinato kale. It's not as chewy and hay-like as the green or purple kale http://www.seedsavers.org/images/623.jpg
Zack
I've just always liked things that were very hard to chew.

gkleinman
I think the secret is to cut it into very thin strips for salad or wraps (after taking out the main stem). I have raw kale in just about every salad I eat. Love it!
tommybricks
Last night I fed raw kale in a salad to three SAD friends. No one even noticed the kale, they just ate it and everyone enjoyed.

cubby2112
I like it in salads, but I just can't eat a lot of it because it takes so much to chew it. I love it in green smoothies when combined with pears, though.
lotus
I am a total fan of kale in salad as well....I don't feel like it is very hard to chew in a salad. As a matter of fact, I like very litte lettuce in my salad, I like kale and chard and maybe a little mustard greens! Top that with some shredded beet, and carrot...some dried currents and sunflower and hemp seeds and some avocado and it is so good!
i_love_beans
Kale is so pretty. It's a great tortilla substitute!
Shesfit
Kale .. hmm. tried it steamed once and found it really bitter. I will get some fresh and local (there's an organic vendor at the market) and try it . I love green smoothies so that should be easy!
health freak
well, yeah, if you try and cut raw kale in really thin stripes and add some garlic and olive oil with lemon it's Delicious! But i guess it's a matter of personal taste
cubby2112
I gave my raw kale a shot in some salad again when I was thinking of this and I liked it. I guess it just took some getting used to from the smoothies.
Shesfit
I had fresh organic kale in my smoothie this morning! I combined peaches, blueberries, watermelon with it. Very fine! I will add it to my salad for dinner tonight. Thanks for all the suggestions.
