pelicanAndrew
I suggest buying a domain name for 20 bucks a year. Super cheap. My band is going to do it as soon as our trombonists cousin finishes the website design.
lotus
How do I do that? If I buy the domain name does that mean I have a website or is that just for the name?
Zack
Just to reserve the name and use it for the site.
Bigbwii
Go to yahoo and get a starter website, I think you will still get the domian name for free with it! that's about $12 per month
bvp663
I'll give a logo/site design a try. As far as logo, is there any specific ideas you had for it? color scheme/design?
willpeavy
I can get you a domain for $6 a year. Or I can host your site for $50 a year (domain included) w/ 10GB of storage and 100GB of bandwidth per month
Guest
I think I may take you up on that once I get my business in order...or I'll just get the domain from you so nobody beats me to it.
lotus
Thank you everyone for your replies! About the website...the 50 dollars a year is for a place to put my website on the web right? I would still need to build a website yes? Please forgive me I am not very computer savvy and I certainly know nothing about website stuff. willpeavy
The $50 per year is for server space and bandwidth. The server is a computer that delivers your site to users' Web browsers. Bandwidth refers to the data that is transferred from the server to users' browsers. If all you need is a simple site that serves as an online brochure for your business, I would go with Wordpress. It has an admin panel that allows you to easily post content and images without any technical knowledge (updating the site is as simple as posting messages on a bulletin board like you're on now). I can install Wordpress on my server in 5 minutes, and there are thousands of free templates that you can choose from as your design. If you need Wordpress customized you can hire someone who knows CSS and PHP, but for a basic site a free template would work fine.
