Mad snackaholic

I snack almost all day. My days are mostly spent at a desk, in front of a computer. So I have lots of time to sit around and stuff my face. It's mostly healthy snacking - trail mix, fruit, carrots. But it's a lot. It doesn't appear to be having any effect on my wasteline or anything, but I wonder if it is unhealthy metabolism-wise or energy-wise.

Any thoughts?

It might be a problem depending what your after:

Calorie restriction

 

A speeded up metaboilsm in general seems to be a biomarker of aging.

I personally think that one of the benefits of a vegan diet is that vegans tend to eat less calories than omnis. That alone is a favourable, I think.

There have only been one study made on animals when it comes to eating few smaller meals instead of fewer, larger ones and it showed a significant disadvantage when it came to life span for the group with the smaller meals. I don't know how much emphasis to put on that though. On the other hand, periodic fasting seems to have benefits for ones health.

I don't see it as a problem...if anything we'd all be healthier if we never ate meals and only snacked...this way your only giving your body what it can break down at a reasonable speed. You aren't asking too much of it like I do when I eat a whole pizza and a quart of Soy Delicious.
