Veganitaliana
I just tried raw dates for the first time. They're not blackish like the ones you get in boxes, but yellow and very crunchy and juicy. They were delicious! I gotta get me more of them.... Gyre
I am a ten minute bike ride away from fresh dates fallen straight off the palm and slightly baked by the sun. MMmmmm...

Guest
How sweet are they compared to the dried stuff? Is it like trying a fresh fig compared to a dried one???
bpmojo
i bought some from a guy at the Austin farmers market a few weeks ago. They taste like little apples. But not as overall sweet as the dried dates I think.
Odidnetne
Fresh dates are one thing that I'd *REALLY* like to try. I think you'd like them!!! I probably would, I've had dried ones and they were good, and I've heard nothing but positive testimonies on them....now to find a place where I can actually find them...:-/
health freak
yeah, raw dates are delicious but quite hard to find even in my country. It's a very tropical fruit and all i usually find is dried ones I also wanna try passion fruit. I dont find it in my country as people here don't know about it, so, don't ask for it as well
Guest
Passion fruits are good but I don't think they'll blow you away. I ate tons of guava when I lived in Hawaii and I don't miss it much because there are lots of fruits that are better and super easy to get. The best thing about it was that where passion fruit grows...its everywhere and you never need to pay for it.

health freak
No, Greece has a temperate climate. not a tropical one. Only in Crete can you find some mangos and avocados but not of a very good quality. I have to admit that i buy imported mangos but i love them
