Vegan Vacation 2008 - Roll Call

I have a question. If we're already up to 33 vbb&f people on the list. And then you consider family, and friends that might come with some of them, and other people not even on the list yet. Do we really have enough room in one cabin? How many people were there at the last vv? And yes I know some on the list may not be able to make it. I'm making a very early guess that we'll have somewhere around 50-75 people, perhaps more.

People always drop out as it gets closer to the event, that is just the way it always goes.

So, we may end up with 50 on the list who are nearly confirmed and get 30.

I'm sure we'll be fine and if for some reason we get more than we can handle, we can find a 2nd place for the others in the nearby region.

Hope to have a great turnout!

Guess who just booked their flight to VV08'?? Some of you know I have been trying to make this happen, well now it's official!!!!

Was told to book on a wednesday night to get the cheapest rates so that's what I did.

Arriving at Portland July 15th 11pm

Departing from Portland July 29th 12pm

Planned the time frame to coordinate with the almighty Potter! Hopefully he won't kick dust up in my face as I try to keep up with him on the daily rides.

Can't wait to chill with everyone and dole out some great big hugs all around.

GO VV08'

If you can rent in expensive enough bike...that'll motivate you enough Don't worry...we'll have fun...I'm not looking to punish anyone unless I'm entered into a race.

It is highly likely that I will not come.

That's too bad. I was looking forward to actually spending time with you this year.

I'd like to but with flights @ 500-550 plus other expenses, it's a little much.

But you said would see us next year.

Zack,

i can't believe it's so expensive for you. My flight ran me 371 including the booking fees, i booked it last week and i'm flying out of air traffic central, ny.

I was told that tuesday and wednesday nights between the hours of 12-2am are the best times to book. Try and get a price quote at those times just out of curiosity....

You could totally get to Portland for free or under $100 if you wanted...

And do it with ease and comfort.

Post on Craigslist, there are truckers(not trashy!), movers, people traveling

willing to give you a ride from all over the country!

Seriously...I've traveled for FREE to several states like this, and

have met some AMAZING people, who I am now all friends with..

traveling this way.

I far prefer it to almost any other form of travel, except

road tripping by myself, which I like the most.

You just need to be creative

I am getting more and more serious about

"free travel experimentation" .. if you want me to hitchhike and come

and get you I will

Let me just say that...

I AM SO EXCITED FOR VV08!

As someone who has been to, or at least dropped in on, every year..

I think this one will be the best/most successful...

And I'm glad I am attempting to "stay put" within a general 5 state radius,

so I'll have time to hang out!

Actually, Andesuma, if I can't make it to the same event I'll just make one for you sometime this summer. Or at least half of one in case LL and Lotus are around. Although I think LL is really looking for a raw pecan pie one of these days.

Yummmmm! If you make it, i'll replace the word 'terracotta' with blueberry on that System of a Down song and start screaming it!

DV i know you listen to SOAD but just in case, this is the song i'm referring to:

Lyrics

I made a blueberry pie out of the Naked Chocolate book called 'Violets Violent End' but I didn't love it, it was like whatever. But I love deserts!

aww...you're too sweet! that blueberry pie @ the raw potluck last year

was just perfect. Totally not heavy.. and most desserts feel super heavy

to me, so.. it's a nice change... and a delicious one! hah
