BodhiDave85
I just found this today http://www.vegfamily.com/articles/the-many-faces-of-vegan.htm I never took the time to figure out what Vegan actually stood for. I mean I know no meat or animal products, but I cant believe I had no idea what the word VEGAN came from. My understanding from this article is that vegan is the beginning and end of VEGatariAN, and makes sense of everything in between. That puts things in a much clearer perspective for me. Sorry if I sound like a complete moron but ima baby vegan!
Bill
Interesting. I was listening to the most recent episode of the Vegan Freak podcast, and Bob (one of the hosts, along with Jena) was saying something to the effect that he has troubles calling vegans who don't do it for animal rights-related reasons real vegans because, if they are doing it for their personal health or the environment, those reasons don't really have a solid foundation, and could therefore change down the road. (I'm probably slightly mis-characterizing his thoughts on this though). Anyway, I think for me at least, it's a mix of animal rights related issues, combined with environmental issues, and the way I feel when eating primarily raw foods (fruits and veggies). I feel like I could fight Mike Tyson, so to speak.
