NOW!: #1: Vegan Mini-Mall Grand Opening PartyWhen: Sunday, January 6th, 2008, 1pm til wheneverWhere: SE Stark and 12th, PDX Join us as we celebrate the official grand opening of Portlands own Vegan Mini-Mall! Come down and visit Sweetpea Baking Company, Herbivore, us, and Scapegoat Tattoo. While youre checking out our new digs, take in some live music by Cars and Trains, Old Growth (maybe), Superbad, and Rough Chukar (music starts about 6 pm) and eat yourself silly. Herbivore will have food samples from the cookbook they just published, Yellow Rose Recipes by Joann Vaught (food at 3 pm), and Sweetpea will be up and running with the deliciousness youve come to expect, plus a whole bunch of new menu items. Stock up on your groceries here (and hit up the Blossoming Lotus soft-serve machine we'll have going) while you bust out a karaoke song or two (maybe), and book your next tattoo appointment at Scapegoat. Many months in the making, The Vegan Mini-Mall is now fully operational. Come hang out and make friends and make things easier for the SHAC7 defendants. #3: AR Volunteer Roundup: January 27thWhen: January 27th, 6-8pmWhere: Food Fight, 1217 SE StarkWhat: Hey you. Lazy animal rights sympathizer? Sleepy from eating nachos and living the easy life in Portland. Ready to get busy? A little busy? Maybe? Well, on Sunday, January 27th, 6-8pm, we're going to be hosting this open house/meet'n'greet kinda thing with a few local groups you might be interested in getting involved with. Nothing is totally final yet, but we're hoping to have tables and people to talk to from In Defense of Animals, NW Veg, Portland Animal Defense League, and hopefully Pawsitively Pit Bull. The idea is that a ton of people can show up, find out what everybody is about, and get involved with whatever group seems to be the best fit for you. Sound good? Sure it does. Mark it on the calendar and please try to come and get involved.
