testosterone

Recommended Posts

Well production of testosterone happens when we are growing in the belly in the testes via Leydig cells for men. Then it halts and continues during puberty. It has a lot of effects on the body such as skin thicking, sexual drive (libido), muscle mass, bones, hair growth, sweat glands (which causes acne in some).

It is an androgen, and is produced in both males and females. It is predominant in males however for women it is an intermediate product for estradiols.

Im not sure if certain activities trigger more release, but it does come from cholesterol. What we need in particular is the free testosterone, which is testosterone not binded to proteins. It is about 4 to 2% of the total testosterone in our body. In the 20s we peak for testosterone. As we hit our 30s, we start to decline about 2% every year. Lost in energy, hair, muscle, gains in fat, loss in sexual pleasure and drive, and such happens with age since the total testosterone starts to go down.

Anabolic steroids are synthesized chemicals that helps seperate the bind of testosterone to the proteins and mimics the muscle building effects. I hope that helps.

There are a few things that I know of to increase testosterone.

1.cycling juice (do not recommend even though I have never tried)

2.high intensity training. I do not know the exact logistics and facts of it but training with a higher intesity is suppose to increase testosterone levels.

3.state of mind. It is also arguable that your state of mind throughout the day can determine the level of testosterone output into your body.

Now these are just things that I have heard around but the way I figure it, why the hell not work out with as much intesity and under as clear of a state of mind as possible. It will only bring you good things!!!

Actually, Nat is right.

Sexual activity produces a lot of testosterone. Especially at the moment of climax.

There is major debate in the sport coaching community as to how this helps physical activity. Some caoches still adhere to the "save your fluids" line, believing that the act of ejaculation takes a lot of vital energy away from the athlete. But there is a growing movement that says sex, or at least masturbation, prior to the game will give a sharp spike to testosterone levels and, therefore, increase performance.

As for higher levels for lifting, I suggest you experiment on your own. Remain a virgin if you want, but perhaps try ('scuse me for being crude) blowing a load prior to your workout. You may also try blowing one off right after the workout instead. The thought is, you might be able to lift more by ejaculating beforehand. But others say it's better to climax after working out and bath the muscle tissues in testosterone and other hormones when they are in recovery mode.

Honestly, I don't really do either of these, but my high school football and basketball coaches both preached this stuff. SO, try it if you want. It definitely does boost testosterone levels. Whether this method is what you want is a different question entirely.

For me, the latter works. If you do it before, theres not much energy, well for me that is the case.

I heard lots of kids on the football team would actually do that before the game. They'd go to somebody's house and put on a porno, do their thing, then play football. I always thought it was strange but if the coaches are saying to do it now i have an explanation. I think it would be better to do this type of thing afterwords since sex does drain vital fluids, makes people tired. Even in Dr. Strangelove when the Airforce Colonel (Jack, I think his name was) mentioned after the physical act of making love he felt drained. Maybe if you drank some pure water then you'd be ready to lift.

You know kollision I dont know if they did it in the same room or what, I never cared to find out. To me doing that in the same place is gross, but I also avoided gym class because of the communal showers. I would think the football players are accustomed to seeing eachother without clothing so they might not see it as a big deal.

I'm highlighting certain info here. This is my question: If B6, Zinc, and protein are what make up testosterone; and zinc, magnesium, B6, and omega 3 increase its levels; then why do pumpkin seeds lower it? pumpkin seeds are one of the highest food sources of zinc in all of nature, and they contain lots of magnesium, B6, protein, and omega 3's. What gives? Does this seem odd to anyone else??

haha nope im gonna remain a virgin. no sex for me.

We all have to masturbate though. Well we don't have to, but if we don't, then we just have wet dreams. Either way, we will have regular sexual climax. I dunno about testosterone though, buf if it is linked, then it's inevitable.

???? Wet dreams if you do not masturbate? I've never had wet dreams (poor me... ). But I guess this is a matter of a too early ejaculation problem and not because of not masturbate.

pumpkin seeds lower testosterone? I used to eat them like crazy.

I found being pissed off, in a rush, posessions less, excited about moving, eating only when im hungry, and sometimes being really hungry, makes me lift really really hard. and that when i lift for legs i seem to be really freaking pumped full of testosterone.

Sexual stimulation causes the body to increase the production of oxytocin which increases endorphin production (the feel good chemical) and this also raises testosterone.

getting enough sleep will raise your testosterone levels , not getting enough sleep raises cortisol levels which lowers testosterone levels.

eating alot of vegetables... which you eat lol .. lowers estrogen there by raising test levels because estrogen and testosterone try to balance each other out and since you lower estrogen your testosterone levels that are left over help you build muscle and whatever else.

Alcohol messes up your testosterone levels tremendously try to stay away from it.

Squats and leg exercises produce the alot of testosterone , but deadlifts are the best to do to increase testosterone production because it works more muscles than any other exercise... and compound exercises are the best one to do to raise testosterone levels

Increase your EFA consumption. Essential Fatty Acids from sources such as peanuts, avocadoes, fish and healthy oils like flax seed, olive and canola are a great way to naturally boost testosterone levels.

Always train with 100% effort and intensity. If you want to see real muscle gains, you must be willing to push yourself to the limit in the gym. greater muscular stress in the gym translates to higher testosterone output.

But about the pumpkin seeds lowering testosterone... umm I have no idea on that .. I havent ever done research on that lol.

It's pretty much meaningless whatever you do within 24 hours with respect to sex. To get a boost for the big game or whatever you should try to have an erection as much as possible without actually ejaculating starting... oh a week before the target competition. You could actually go ahead and masturbate/have sex the night before and it probably wouldn't hurt the effect although I'd recommend to wait till afterwards.

I've done this a number of times. When I played basketball my vertical seriously increased as much as 6 inches. I most recently did this in November of 2004 for a powerlifting competition. Before the comp, my deadlift had been stuck at 415 for at least 6 months. For the comp I deadlifted 465 and had more in me but no more attempts. Then I had sex (actually I MASTURBATED ) the next weekend I couldn't even deadlift 405. It didn't have anywhere near as much affect on my bench and squat, although it does have an affect on all the muscles to some extent.

But it doesn't transfer into any long term improvements at all. The same as protein stuffing and creatine. There's no long term improvements and so they are mostly a waste of time for the average person who does sports as a hobby.

Garlic can help raise test, but it can also make you smelly

If you eat enough garlic to make you smelly your only ticket to ejaculation city will be masturbation...that or the high garlic content in your blood will make you need an ejaculatory catheter so you don't have to wake up to a mess every morning. That or just do what Jay said and keep a woody all day long...I figure if you don't go to sleep it won't take care of itself and you can use all the energy in the gym...just make sure you tuck it somewhere
