Porn wars is such a terrible title. Surely:

Pornstar Wars: The Phantom Penis

Pornstar Wars: The Clone Penis

Pornstar Wars: Revenge of the Penis

Pornstar Wars: A New Penis

Pornstar Wars: The Penis Stikes Back

Pornstar Wars: Return of the Penis

Unfortunately they weren't that creative. They just had Ep 1-3 at the Family Video we got it at.

King Corn - Netflix Instant Watch - Pretty good documentary about todays corn and how its in everything, nutritional garbage, and subsidized by the government to produce cheap food to poison everyone. Well they don't actually say that but thats the message I got. I think I remember beforewisdom mentioning it in a thread. People here should watch this doc.

Starship Troopers (for about the 100th time)

Friday (for probably the 200th time )

Lots of Adult Swim cartoons such as Mission Hill, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Frisky Dingo and Tom Goes to the Mayor

DVD player hasn't been seeing too much action from me lately. Too many late nights and lack of feeling like settling in for 90+ minutes. Flipping through cable with a 5 minute attention span to each program has sounded better this past few weeks.

LOL!

I can't tell you how many times I have watched Starship Troopers. The book by Robert Heinlein is very different, but very good too.

I have been watching the Sarah Conner Chronicles through netflix. Not bad.

I have also been watching Babylon 5 for the 4th time, for free, streaming on the internet.

Yeah, I've heard that the book tackles a lot of issues that the movie doesn't get into and is very different, but I can't help but be drawn back to giant bugs flinging severed CGI limbs in every direction

I recently finished all four seasons of Lost. My sister's boyfriend got me hooked on it.

I've also been watching a lot of the Miami Ink and LA Ink DVD's... the shows is a bit unrealistic and staged, but the work they do is amazing, so I enjoy them.

'The Devil's Backbone' - Del Toro rocks so hard.

Anyone else a horror junkie?

i'm a horror junkie i'm not a fan of deltoro though, he plays more with the imaginary than horror, I find. But have you seen "they" ? not a 100% horror movie but it's scary though, I found... nothing really scares me on a screen but this a bit more than other things

'Horror' is a big industry, I would definitely put 'Devil's Backbone' in there. Even Pan's Labyrinth had it's roots in horror, though not solely designed to scare. But no, I haven't seen 'They' yet. Now that I have a recommendation, I will!

Have you seen 'The Orphanage'? A little slow, but it has some pretty brilliant sequences.

I'm somewhat of a Horror Junkie too. The new stuff borderlines on more shock-Horror then true Horror. Stuff like Saw, Hostel and then some. I'm not into gore. I'm more of a Psychological horror fan. Though I do like old slashers. Stuff like Friday the Thirteenth and Nightmare on Elmstreet. I'm also into cheap B-Horror, Like Critters, Leprechaun and Killer Clowns from Outer Space.

Friday the 13th is the epitome of slasher gore! I kinda love that one. Have you seen 'Black Christmas' (the 1974 original)?? I just recently saw it, and was pretty impressed. People credit 'Friday' for creating the blueprint of modern horror, but 'Black Christmas' came out four years earlier, and knows what it's doing.

So with you on the 'torture porn' crap that's been the trend for the last 5 years. I'm over it. The funny thing is that I think it's an outgrowth of the Japanese horror market that became trendy just before..... but of course american producers latched on to the 'torture' part and not the ethereal artistry that fans were responding to.

Hostel, & films were people get tortured, usually females... that stuff really is just sick, I really dont like it.

Proper horror is great when it is gory slasher film, & also when they are siding with the fantasy style of things, but in a scary way.

The 'Aliens' films are great.

aliens movies are great. Like "alien" the first one and the sequel "aliens", but I know you refer more to the horror-sci-fi ones, not the drama/action. I like the more cheesy ones, or the ones about invasion on Earth or abductions. The X-Files series is great for that. "They live" is not really horror but it's awesome. Others from Carpenter, like "the thing", so great. "Communion" with Christopher Walken is maybe my favorite alien abduction movie. But there are so many that I've seen and liked but that don't come to my mind right now.

Carpenter will always be "THE MAN"

Lines from several of his films. Guess each.

#1- Any one of us could have gotten to that blood.

#2-

Guy 1: It won't come out no more.

Guy 2: What? Huh?! What won't come out no more?!

#3- I thought you were dead.

1- The Thing!

3- EFNY!! (nice avatar, btw!)

stumped me on 2.........
