  1. it should be illegal to fight with all those weapons! you are right, it is a very nice sword...um, shirt. I like the shirt, too. This, of course, means that you will need to leave the forums today to galavant around England displaying your awesomeness. Taking the sword is optional but highly recommended.
  2. Welcome to the board! I still attempting to reach my fitness goals. Being vegan should surely help!
  3. Whoooh Hooh Hooh! Now what the heck is a ninja doing with those guns, huh? I thought you were a sword man!
  4. Ah, I think Kelly Osbourne is mighty cute. I thought she looked really beautiful all dolled up in the most recent video I saw. Not sure I necessarily dig her as a musician but I'm probably basing that on the Madonna remix... EDIT: never mind, i just can't keep up with you boys. ugh.
  5. Sorry, not really sure what to offer up as advice since I tend to be the opposite - I enjoy loner fitness activities. Seems like you know yourself very well and will find you stride soon! Good luck! Happy Fitness Finding!
  6. Ok, I have set this as a goal of mine for 2006. I'd like to be comfortable enough in my own skin to participate next year in PETA's "Human Race" in Spain. I think it's a pretty awesome idea! In protest of the "Running of the Bulls", PETA "runs naked people". I certainly find it more entertaining to watch naked vegan/vegetarians running/walking than I do bulls. (Not everyone goes completely naked, by the way). Anyone else ever consider participating in this?
  7. Very impressive, indeed! Awesome-ness in action. I am also a day walker....but, i am not worthy. From this point forward, I shall consider myself a "girl who takes strides while the sun is shining"
  8. EDIT: To clarify, I am laughing at Richard, not the question. It is a very nice question, in deed, that I, myself, had no clue as to the answer.

  10. I'm not a huge astrology follower but I'm typically pretty good at guessing water signs. Scorpio, in my opinion, is a great sign. I'm a Cancer and tend to mesh well with Scorpios and Pisces. I do tend to have conflicts with Capricorn and Gemini but, geez, I'm sure that has nothing to do with astrology. I guess I'm on the fence with regards to validity of astrology. It's amusing at least.
  11. OMG, richard. OK, so, since you asked for a woman's perspective, here's mine - Some men make them sexy. I find them sexy if I believe that they are being worn as an independence/alternative statement. I don't like them to be bikerish but I would probably like them on someone with dreadlocks. I think I'd like plaid best. Plaid speaks to a level of sensi...what am I talking about???? I really don't know. Some kilts can look sexy. I wouldn't find it sexy at work, but I would be intrigued if I saw someone wearing on on the street and that person didn't look to be riding a harley or scottish. This is a really odd question. I don't really know why I decided to answer this because I'm not making any sense. Sometimes sexy. Sometimes not.
  12. no, richard, I am not doing any math! there! music. i have to learn to build a coconut cd player first. that's going to be a challenge. i think i'll bring a beatles anthology. that way i can get my fill of sappy pop songs and some politic songs mixed in with some hardcore "i am totally high and off my rocker" songs. And then maybe I can land on an island where someone has some rage against the machine. that would really be great because then I would have to worry about building a cd player and I could use my cds to reflect the sun and build a fire or something. sorry, i'm talking and i can't shut up!
  13. I do exercise regularly - 6/7 days a week, I walk 4 miles. With leg weights. It works really well for me! I have asthma and have difficulty with running/jogging but I feel I get a better workout with speed walking, anyway. My main goal, really, is to tone up my arms and define my abs. My legs are toned. I want to sharpen them a little, but I'm looking to start weight training for my upper body. EDIT: Vegan ice cream is good. But, Veggies are AWESOME!
  14. It does give you extra points for activity/weight lifting but I haven't had success trying to apply them. I'm a free spirit! I need to move on to a new plan. Live a little!
  15. Richard, you are such a Pisces! Thanks for your explanation/clarification! EDIT: Being Pisces is a GOOD thing. Not that you really had any decision in that...wait...maybe your ninja spirit did!!! smart ninja spirit!
  16. I have two HUGE containers of soy protein (supro) at home. The problem is that each scoop of powder (approx 30g) has 2 points. My diet only allows for 22 points a day. And, those two points don't include the two points for a cup of soy milk and 1 point per half banana. So...Bleh. Math. Why does there have to be soooo much math!!!
  17. Don't try it buster! You've just outed yourself! That's pretty awesome input, and, I find it relatively amusing that some of you commented on Michelle Berger. I also like her muscle definition but the boob job and fake tan rub me the wrong way. I guess I'm striving for something in the middle, personally. I find it ironic that you guys are interested in perfecting yourselves but aren't looking for that same type of perfectistic personality in women. What the heck is "perfect" anyway?! Stupid vanity magazines! I should NEVER have read them in high school! Super-thinness is so anti-awesome!
  18. Ok, so I recently lost about 50+ pounds following a weight watchers points style diet. I'd like to lose about 15 more pounds but also begin some serious weight training/body building. What would you recommend in terms of protein intake. By body weight, I'd be at about 160 g/day. I'd find it pretty impossible to continue with my current diet while following that plan. I'd been thinking to drop the diet (I don't like "dieting mentality" anyway), switch to a whole foods plan and up the protein and weight training. How do you think I'd do with dropping the last 15 lbs? What are you following in terms of protein/carb/fat ratio? I noticed that you, Robert, started out several years ago following a body for life plan - would you recommend this to me for my present situation? I admit, I'm very new to body scuptling/body building (while not so new to actually weight training) and any suggestions would be really "awesome" (that's for you, richard)
  19. And what shall we rock-out to today? BTW: Richard: you have mail.
  20. Like Richard said, you'll find plenty of awesomeness. (I say this in my best Napoleon Dynamite voice since I don't actually have a clue what Richard sounds like - though I am sure it is very vegan and muscular ) Welcome to the board! I also came upon veganism gradually but with the opposite intentions - I became vegan for ethical reasons and only now am stumbling upon the incredible health benefits, as well! Great to hear about your interest in fitness competitions. I'm also looking into that route once I become more familiar with intense weight training. So, anyhoo, welcome!
  21. So awesome that you jumped aboard the fitness train earlier than I did! Like you, I struggled with weight issues my entire life. Throughout high school, I was essentially anorexic as well, but, because I slowed my metabolism so drastically, I didn't "believe" I was anorexic because I wasn't "super skinny". I began dating a guy when I was 18 who was not a vegetarian and as a result, we found it "easiest" to eat out - a lot! I began gaining weight at that point. I lost briefly when I first became vegan but then had two little girls and the stress of being a young mother helped me up the weight on QUICKLY. I'm 24, 5'8 and weighed almost 215lbs!! I started following a Weight Watchers style diet (low calorie/low fat/high fiber) and lost almost 60lbs. I recently decided that "thin-ness" isn't my actual goal and that it would be difficult to diet in this manner while trying to lift so I'm researching this as well. In terms of beginning fitness, I started really slowly - I began walking. 30 minutes about 5x a week - just around the block and a relatively slow pace. After a month, I upped it to 1 1/2 miles and then 2 weeks later to 2 miles. Shortly after that, I added leg weights. They seems REALLY heavy for the first week and I had to remove them after a mile. Now, I can double-up the weights on each side and walk 4 miles 7 days a week. It's toned my legs, boosted by metabolism and gradually re-introduced me to fitness. Do you have any fitness regiment that you follow? What are your main interests? Do you enjoy dancing, nature, gardening? Pretty much anything you enjoy can be juiced-up to give you exercise. I think you'll be amazed at how quickly your body responds. I'll keep you posted on information as I locate it. You said you "aren't" interested in losing weight, right. OR are you?
  22. Hey! Thanks for joining up with me! You're the best! I have to laugh at your username - you certainly are cheesy! That's a GOOD THING!
  23. Thank you all for the wonderful welcome! I'm 24 y/o and have two LITTLE girls - one will be 3 in October and the other is 9 months. I have to agree with compassionategirl that 6 seems like a lot to me! Let alone 12! whew. PS - anyone know how to shrink photo size without making it as small as mine appears??
  24. Hi! I'm a vegan mom of two who stumbled upon this site with the help of my wonderful vegan body building boyfriend. I've also recently become interested in bulking up. For the longest time, I was soley concerned with being "thin". Now, 50 lbs later,I see thin women as in health as poor as mine used to me. So, I'm enlisting the help of this site to get me in gear.
