  1. Oooh La La! 4 Cups stale bread broken into bite size pieces 3 1/2 Cups soymilk 2/3 Cup sugar 1T Vanilla 1/2t Salt 1t Cinnamon Place bread pieces in a shallow baking pan. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over the bread pieces, completely saturating. Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes. (Another Farm Cookbook recipe!) Here is a simple picture of our modest dessert. It would have been fantastic with a scoop of vegan ice bean - all warm and gooey but, we're limited on supplies and this was still extremely satistifying (for dessert and for breakfast this morning) . http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/breadpudding2.jpg
  2. Alcohol mainly gets out of control in social situations that encourage excessive drinking. Recklessness is a result of groupthink. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupthink I think that it's silly to be concerned about anyone in the group having disregard for the property and thus causing damage that you would be held liable for. So far, the general consesus appears to be apathetic and hold only mild interest one way or the other. Groupthink would ultimately influence attendees to imbibe within reason and/or not at all in this scenario.

    hello

Hi Shinya! Welcome to the board! Don't let your English deter you - it's my first language and I don't speak it all that well either!
  4. They were totally spiked! 1800 Tequila in the batter and in the icing! Fresh lime juice, too! I got raves from some but others I think were leary. I love fruity cupcakes far more than I love rich and chocolately ones. My margarita cupcakes were simply from the VCTOTW cookbook. The jelly donut cupcakes were my own creation. I'm hoping to start toying with some "original" recipes soon! Still, the margarita cupcakes were my favorites by far! A friend even posted in her blog that she hopes that her margarita cupcakes turn out 1/2 as good as mine! She's following the same recipe so I'm sure they'll be great. It does offer testament, however that they are some phenomenal spiked cupcakes.
  5. Cupcake team it is! Waiting to hear about the cupcakes you recently developed...When Michael and I were away this weekend, we stopped by a neat organic, bulk store. They were aboard the cupcake train - I picked up these goodies: http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/forcupcakes2.jpg The colored sugars were $1.00 a box! We spent $5 for a tiny jar of the orange sugar at whole foods when I was making my margarita cupcakes!! I'm excited to try my hand at some mini-cupcakes soon! I purchased some toffee, coffee, coconut, and amaretto flavorings, as well! Also a dollar a dram!
  6. Wow, impressive gains! Jonathan gives sound advice - he's gained a heck of a lot this last year and your gains appear comparative. (Not that I know the slightest thing about this, for the record) Still...
  7. I suppose a more appropriate way to describe this neck of the trip would be: round 1, round 2, round 3 and championship round? I can feel the testoterone already! Air Hockey, Video Games... 4 works for me!
  8. Oh, I'm in. I love hippies and weird stuff. We have the summer "off", so we would love to come early and hang with the other hippies. I find it hard to wrap my brain around the reality that there really are freaks out there like me. Not exactly like me, but much more like me than my typical associates. Hooray for Hippies and Vegan Portland!
  9. You Are Superman http://images.blogthings.com/whatsuperheroareyouquiz/superman.jpg Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. And pretty cute too. No wonder you're the most popular superhero ever! I think the main reason I'm superman is because I want to jump miles. Travel. I wonder what the selection - custume isn't important is related to. Anyone know their superhero trivia?
  10. You Are 32% Evil http://images.blogthings.com/howevilareyouquiz/evil-2.jpg A bit of evil lurks in your heart, but you hide it well. In some ways, you are the most dangerous kind of evil. I must say, I was bummed and hoping for a higher score. More evil, more evil! mwa hahaha. Still, I'm the most dangerous kind! Mwa! Faaaahbulous!
  11. Indian Food - Part Two! I made Gobi Aloo (Spiced Cauliflower and Potatoes), Brown Basmati, Tomato chutney and Papadums on Friday. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/DSC00663.jpg
  12. You're preaching to the choir, LL! I lived less than an hour from some massive redwoods in California just a year ago. Technically, I believe that those are still trees in the Wayne National Forest. You know what they say, don't you?! "Size Doesn't Matter"
  13. Yum! Casa Nueva! I'll just post pictures since lengthy descriptions of our wanderings have already been posted. Here are some pictures from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Casa Nueva - a worker owned restaurant with fantastic vegan options! http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/WorkerOwned.jpg Breakfast Burrito http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/TiffaneyCasaNueva1.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/CasaNeuvaFood.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/BurritoInsides.jpg Where is the Breakfast Burrito??!? http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/MichaelCasaNueva2.jpg Loved the view from our corner table! http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/ViewFromCasaNeuva.jpg Us, extremely full. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/TiffaneyandMichael.jpg
  14. One of our stops yesterday while traveling the OH river from Athens, OH back to Pittsburgh was the Wayne National Forest. We took a little hike around. It was quite surreal - the only tracks within the forest were ours and various tracks of different animals. I'm now officially a "tree hugger" http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/TreeHugger.jpg Michael skating on thin (ok, thick) ice! http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/SkatingonThinThickIce.jpg The frozen Ohio River http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/OhioRiver.jpg Me, in my ever so practical hiking shoes, breaking the ice by stomping on it - hey, I got the idea from Michael... Actually, it was very unique - the wind must have blown the ice into layers - whereas most of the ice was thick and solid, there were patches of thin layered ice mixed within. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/BreakingTheIce.jpg Cold, dorky and happy. Here we are on a platform overlooking the Ohio River in the Wayne National Forest. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/IDOnot.jpg
  15. Ha! Zack...man, if I had a penny for everytime I heard or read that... I'd have a penny!
  16. Here, I offer up proof that I rarely brush my hair. I'd say this is pretty indicative of how I look first thing in the morning. Michael and I took our day trip this weekend without any supplies at all. No brush, no change of clothes...just go...and see...and be... Aaaaah! http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/TiffaneyCasaNueva2.jpg
  17. ssssh! my face says what I want it say! (ok, so usually my face is making weird expressions and my brain has to loosely translate my dorkiness...but...)
  18. Fantastic! Here's hoping it is a career in the making!
  19. That's not heaven! That's New Vrindaban! Here is I am yesterday at the Palace of Gold. My face is saying: I saw a palace of gold and all I got is this lousy picture. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/PalaceofGold-andallIgotwasalousyPic.jpg New Vrindaban is an very "interesting" place chock full of lacto-vegetarian hippies of sorts. There are two organic farms on the premise - one of which Michael and I intend to work/live on next summer "for food". Here is a tiny part of the SANTEE Community Garden- in a wintery state. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/SANTEEFarm.jpg We're leaving very urban life in the city of Pittsburgh and making Moundsville, WV our "nearest city". Moundsville has two claims to fame - a prison and a big old mound. Here I am at the mound. Across the street is theMoundsville Prison http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/MoundsvilleMound-AOkay.jpg
  20. I think he's attractive. A little too "clean cut" but at the same time, he's not exactly "metro" which would ruin the appeal. His body is fine but I care little about bodies. I like his coloring.
  21. Everyone looks great in the morning. Better than ever, in my opinion. But, I'm a sucker for disheveled and low maintenance. I'll try to remember to take a picture of myself in the morning. I, essentially, look the same as every other time since I never wear makeup and rarely brush my hair but, my hair does stick up a bit more until I flatten it with my hands...
  22. I hear that "stamina" increases with age. Or maybe that was "practice". Let's hope it's age.
  23. Here are a few pictures - I'm too tired to do a major posting tonight but rest assured that tomorrow pictures AND descriptions will be posted in the photos section. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/CasaNeuvaFood.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/TiffaneyandMichael.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/MichaelWayneNationalForest.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c240/veganmadre/IDOnot.jpg
