  1. Now Bruce and Tuc, you're not playing fair by using logical thought and facts. Who needs facts when I can insult you?
  2. Danzig seems (to me) to be lacking a key element . . . effective aggression. That's what lost the fight last night IMO.
  3. Great post Medman, thanks. Tuc, very well said . . . . no evidence of retardation there.
  4. Actually I meant it to point out how youthful you look . . . but geesh, how do you get your protein??
  5. Hey Tuc, how's progress? I think it's time for you to post some new pics.
  6. Medman, it's great to see you back on the board!
  7. Bruce is correct, I neither advocate nor discount the use of these substances. This is a general rule I follow. I have very strong beliefs, but don't try to force them on anyone. Also, this is from my perspective, but I haven't seen Bruce discount personal experience. I think that he has a very keen analytical mind that dissects fact from theory. As I haven't done any testing on this, I will add an IMO.
  8. No apology necessary, as you were making your point . . . but I do thank you for it.
  9. The point that is not beig grasped by those who mis-quote and misrepresent what I say is this: I am relating my life experiences . . . not test results. I have never once advocated the use of MSG , supplements, or protein powders, nor have I taken a stand against them. I am stating the facts of my experience with them. I have used supplements, protein powder and have eaten MSG for some 45 years. I started in martial arts at age 9 (some people used to make fun of my name, can you imagine?) I started on supplements and soy protein at age 10 with hopes of improving my endurance. I started eating lots (not a HUGE amount) of Chinese and Korean food then as well. I have continued to use protein isolates, supplements, and eat MSG ever since. I have good health, good energy and I really ENJOY my food and diet. (even though Vegan Joe looks better, and has a wicked cool mustache) This has been my real experience with these substances. This may not work for everyone, but it works for me. Does someone telling me that this is detremental to my health change my life experience? Will I change my diet, enjoyment and opinions simply because a natural food zealot condems these items? No.
  10. My actual quote was: " I've been eating lots of MSG for about 45 years (not deliberately, but it is heavily used in Chinese food). I'll keep you posted if I develope any health problems when I get older." I said this slightly tongue in cheek as I am already "older". This is very different than saying "HUGE amounts" You shouldn't misquote people even if it is for dramatic effect.
  11. Wait, does this mean that VJoe wins?
  12. Looking great (as usual) Robert . . . and my sincere condolences for having to spend time in Hawaii . . . (it is snowing here)
  13. Very cool . . . Robert, Octo, and L&G have really infused new excitement (for this old man anyway) here. Best of luck to you all. This has inspired me to hit the gym harder.
  14. joelk, after seeing your profile I am trying to work my legs even harder . . . really impressive phisique, sir! The supplements I'll use to dream of looking as good as you.
  15. . . . and the ensuing natural gas could solve the energy crises!
  16. The body, being unable to cope with all of the poisons would explode into a unicorn, causing much harm and cuteness . . . can't prove it wouldn't happen . . . and my company is PC based.
  17. That's true. I felt terribly sick after trying to eat my computer. Probably because you don't have an Apple.
  18. If you want realy wild dreams, try a mixture of 5-HTP, melatonin and zinc at bedtime.
  19. For your grip try hanging on a chin-up bar. Hang for as long as possible a couple of times every workout. Also, just holding a loaded bar for as long as possible works the grip. Are you doing wrist curls, reverse wrist curls and reverse curls? Everyone responds differently, but my grip responds best when worked at every workout. Same with my calves. Sore hands and feet? Try a warm water soak with arnica oil. For extreme soreness and swelling try alternating between an ice water soak and a hot water/arnica oil soak; as in 5 minutes ice-5 minutes hot. It's intense, but it does work. As for spices? Science has proven that spices are a subversive Alien plot to steal our brainwaves by lulling us into complacency as we enjoy our tasty food.
  20. Concluding that tobacco is healthy is your conclusion, not mine. Equating tobacco use with MSG is your analogy, not mine (as it is a bit far-fetched). My Grandfather smoked for most of his 94 years and was quite healthy all of his life . . . it certainly doesn't lead me to conclude that smoking is healthy, but everything effects people differently. My father was a heavy smoker and had a long list of associated health problems. As I said, I have experienced no adverse health problems from MSG . . . others may. But then I also eat a high protein diet, take supplements, and eat some cooked food.
