  1. Welcome, Andrew... uhm, what is a magical 300/400/500 split? and oregonisaac, what magical ratio are you referring to, as well?

    hello

Welcome, John and enjoy your stay =) I wish I was in a place like Florida right now... getting colder here, I've even started to wear socks, BLAH!
  3. UGH, I get all flustered when people/media diss specific dog breeds. Like a child, if a dog is not abused, neglected, exploited... but raised properly in a loving environment, none of these bad breed stereotypes would be so rampant! Nicole, definitely keep us updated ~ all the best!!! http://static.flickr.com/88/247590652_71208207d3_m.jpg
  4. btw, did you finally use up your bag of TVP? What did you end up making with it?
  5. Eeew! Doubly Ewwwww ~ I don't even know what veal tastes like and i don't ever wanna!!!!
  6. That's VERY exciting! 8 hours really isn't that long, especially a road trip with friends and family (your doggies). I hope everyone gets along... I checked out Achilles ~ he will be a lucky fellow to be part of your loving family =) much blessings =)
  7. LOL Maybe you can make an air guitar video for us and the forum can decide if you are indeed the World's Best Air Guitar player or at least the best Vegan one!
  8. hmmm, I get my spinach from my local farmer, so I didn't realize that there was a spinach recall either. Out of curiosity... where did the recalled spinach come from?
  9. Oh, cool thanks! I've been planning for my next tattoo and this post came at the right time =)

    raw pie??

How excellent ~ looks delish!!! What did you name this creation of yours when you entered it into the contest? Was your pie for the pie contest in Ottawa? I meant to go, but couldn't. I think that was the first officially raw pie contest in Canada ever.
  11. Welcome aboard Ritchie! I'm not interested in bodybuilding but I certainly would love to be learn more about flexibility. I loved your newest video ~ you really didn't need to comphrehend Korean to watch it =)
  12. Quinoa is definitely a quick sprouter! Kathryn is right: it is a seed and the best time to eat sprouted quinoa is when you can just see the tail popping out ~ within 3-4 hours. That is when it contains the highest amount of nutrients as well (I think).
  13. LOL ~ I hear you about the time factor! After the initial peeling of the skin you could certainly put it in a food processor. It will shred the squash using the pulse button; or you can use a processor that has a "grating" plate attachment.
  14. Me tooooooooo ~ yum yum! How about shredding/grating them to make a main salad, as toppings or fillings for raw rolls? Sometimes I slice other squashes and eat them like chips with (raw) dip or on its own =) Kathryn, I've eaten the winter squashes (butternut, buttercup and acorn) raw and found them sweet. I never had a problem of digesting them ~ I just make sure to chew well =)
  15. After eating squashes and zucchini raw, I no longer like them cooked... in fact, after going raw in general, there is no turning back =)
  16. btw, have a nice time with your family in Canada =)
  17. EWWWW, yeah me too ~ even if it WAS vegan, the visual associations are too strong for me to swallow even a little mouthful!!
  18. Personally, I prefer the Vega bars over the Larabars. Also, I believe the ingredients in Vega are organic (is that correct, Robert?) and Larabars are not. Even though I find both brands way too sweet for me, I keep the Vega bars on hand for when I am on the run and need a quick fix. But I must admit I'm addicted to the new Maya bars these days.
  19. I was directed to this site by Robert from his myspace profile, so now I'm here. It's nice to see some other Canadians on here... Robert, I didn't know that you had dual citizenship ~ tres cool! I'm not particulary interested in bodybuilding, but I love the fitness/nutrition information and the forum topics made available here. What I like most especially is the wonderful support from the vegans and non-vegans alike. Peace and blessings to all!!
  20. Freesia, homemade almond milk is SUPER EASY and very inexpensive to make! All you have to do is blend (i do it in a Vitamix) 1 cup of almonds (soaked overnight) to 3 cups of water and that's it! You can either strain it for a smoother milk (and use the pulp later for other things) or drink it as is. It normally keeps for 3 days in the fridge. I put it over my cereals or use it as a base for my smoothies. =)
  21. I think diets by blood type is bogus. There is a book called the China Study that was recommended to me that talks about these fad diets. I keep meaning to read it, but life keeps distracting me... anyone read it (or maybe this should be another forum topic)?
  22. I'm a fan of gojii berries, but I find the taste sweet and not bland as you described. I use them as I would other dehyrated fruits ~ sprinkled over fresh fruits or cereals, in smoothies or just by itself. My little vegan neice who is 3 years old eats it right from the bag and for some reason, she just can't get enough.
