  1. Yea, I also plan on running as well. Thanks for the great advice. What are some foods with good carbs?
  2. Awesome! Thanks for all of the advice. I'm a bit out of shape, so I'll struggle with distance at first. But I'll get there eventually
  3. I guess what threw you off was my comment on being physically safe. I should have clarified that. What I meant was what I should be eating and how I should be working out in order to not destroy my body. I don't want my diet to be lacking in an area that would cause me to under perform and get ill. I also am wondering how best to exercise my legs and stuff for strength and endurance. If that makes any sense.
  4. Yea, I already have a helmet, and I'm planning on getting some decent shades so I can have good visibility as I'm riding.
  5. I just brought my bike (Specialized Stumpjumper with slicks) up from LA and I am very interested in cycling now. I guess this bike will have to do until I raise enough money for a road bike, but that isn't exactly my problem. My problem is that I know next to nothing about cycling (what kinds of foods a cyclist should eat, best ways to be physically safe, etc etc). Basically I am a noob reaching out for advice from seasoned veterans. What sort of information that you now know from experience would you have loved to know about when you first started cycling? That kind of stuff. Fill my mind with your sage advice. Joseph
  6. A food contracting company provides the catering, and all of their food is fresh (nothing out of a can, most foods from local farmers within 100 mile radius). What I've been eating for the past couple of days: Protein shakes made of: Garbonzos kidney beans carrots cucumbers bananas melons tomatoes hemp protein powder and basically bowls of garbonzos, kidney beans, string beans, lettuce, carrots, and cucumbers. I'm not trying to go with only one type of fruit or veggie as I have read some people recommend (too hardcore for my blood, maybe I'll do it later). Anyways, what are some good greens to request? Thanks in advance by the way, you guys are great.
  7. I'm on a (mostly) raw food diet. I live in a dorm-type facility and have recently shared the specifics of my diet with the manager of the cafe. The manager and head chef have enthusiastically embraced my diet and asked me for a list of foods that I would like to eat, so they can get them for me. Now, I'm not really a food expert, so I'm wondering what you guys would suggest. What types of legumes should I ask for? What are some good nuts? Berries? Veggies? Etc. Thanks in advance, I'm loving being raw so far. Joseph
