  1. if you have time listen to this podcast. It says in the middle of the podcast that we vegans should be more critical about what we believe to be true.

Leaving aside the argument that animals are mistreated which there is plenty of evidence. On the environmental and health side of things... what is known to be true. We all have pretty much the same arguments. According to this podcast many are just either untrue or unsubstantiated. I know that the global warming and factory farming from cattle is a worse green house gas than cars. This is stated by the United Nations... How about the amount of water use in factory farming, how about vegans and vegetarians live longer... and so on? What arguments do we truly have the facts for? Which ones are legitimate to use with out being stumped

Please listen if you have the time.

  2. I have living harvest organic hemp seed protein. I use this on occasion when I can't get to a meal or cook one and I have to weight a few hours before I can. So when I look at it it has a light brown greenish color. Nothing is else is in it. Just hemp seed. So I think some seeds are alkaline since it also has a green tint I am wondering if it may have chlorophyl. Thus being alkaline. Maybe I am just looking at this all wrong.

and that is why I was also asking why they were not using the leaves for a shake as well. Leave being green

  3. how to get into breakdancing "originally called b-boying"

learn the culture. Bboying is a dance. It shares a lot of moves from capoeira, gymnastics and yoga. There are foundation moves. Six step, 3 step 4 step, c - c's, and so on. These you can find online how to do it.

It takes a lot practice. I would say it is a lot like gymnastics. Where each moves needs strength and balance.

Best way to start is find a class in your area. Many dance studios offer it or go online on youtube.

It actually is great for staying in shape. Plus it can give you a gymnists build. Bodyweight builds a lot of lean muscle. You won't look like Arnold but you can look like brad pitt in fight club.

if any of you want to learn more about it ask send me a personal message.

I can give you better ways to start.

  4. As some of you know the Artist Common went back to eating fish. Saying he needed more protein. The main writer for NaturalNews.com said that he would go Vegan but he still needs good protein so he eats fish on occasion.

Why do people make these claims? Do we have a protein meter in our body that goes ... ding ding ding ... more protein?

Plant diet provides great sources of protein. Even when we lift as long as we are eating enough foods we will get a good source of protein. There is some evidence that shows that your body can't absorb all the protein one eats. Plus as many agree Hemp is a great source of that good quality protein.

Protein over rated or desperately needed?

  5. Welcome to the board!

You must read the book the CHINA STUDY. or listen to it on tape. It will explain that we need a hell of a lot less protein than is needed. Specially from animal sources. I went Vegan 5 months ago. I had been debating it for a while going Vegan thinking it would be too hard. All vegans have a learning curve when they start. Protein is in almost everything. The key is not the protein. It is to eat enough calories to compensate for the energy exerted. Keep a variety of whole foods in your diet. Gorillas don't check their vitamine intake or how much protein they eat. They just eat a variety of foods.

Also if it is about building muscle is lifting consistent and heavy, pushing your muscles to rep max to stimulate max growth.

Here is some samples of that evidence of protein in foods that you really did not know it had protein. Eating a variety of foods will give you enough protein. Hemp protein being a great source of additional protein.

broccoli cooke 1 cup has 6.8 grams of protein.

spinach cooked 1 cup 13 grams.

    bagel 3.9 grams

    1/4 cup of sunflower seeds

1 medium organge has 1 gram of protein.

so the highest tend to be seitan (a wheat gluten product), nuts, sees, and legumes

I hope you with time you will realize being Vegan is not that strange and hard to do. For me it motivates me to follow a vegan lifestyle. Plus I feel better than ever.

  6. 2 leafs of kale (make sure it is super fine- liquidity) add a bit of water if needed

  7. I think most of you have read this. I am currently listening to it on tape after reading it a fist time. I wanted to see some reviews on this and ran across a bunch of skeptics. One goes in depth about things that were missing... which made me kinda mad for the sake that ... was this guy doing the experiments? or was Dr. Campbell there evaluating the data.

well here are there critics skim through it if you want cause it is long

    here is another

We care about animals but besides that some of you care also about your health... what are your thoughts

  8. I been vegan 5 months, I am so busy trying to avoid certain ingredients that I neglected to think about how it was cooked. I try to avoid eating out often but when I do I really don't seem to have many options. It must be true that meat fats from a grill or a pan could be used to cook a regular burger as well as a veggie burger. Your thoughts please

  10. Earthlings this movie is quite intense. People are just very desensitized that is why it does not phase them. This has a lot to do with our cinema I think. So many slasher movies are popular now. Plus action movies show more and more senseless violence. If we keep updating to the next level of violence every year where will that leave our true emotions? Most people will admit now that that cinematic violence is tollerable. I think it is just terrible for that same reason. More we slowly feed people the more it will seem ok.

Look at action movies 30 years ago and look at them now.
