  1. Wayne's World is one of my favorite movies ever. The sequel was good too. Congrats on being one posting mofo.
  2. Hey, you're right up the road from me! (Well, sort of..) Welcome, Clinton.
  3. As far as I can tell from poking around their website, it appears to be in Lincoln City.
  4. Here's the link: http://www.seahavenrentals.com/puffins.html The house itself looks awesome for multiple reasons: pool table, seven bedrooms, gourmet kitchen, playstation 2, wireless internet, and privacy fence around the hot tub. (do check out that link... lots of photos) Drawback being a 2hr drive to Portland, according to google maps, and I couldn't find much else about the town.
  5. If my roadtrip goes as planned, I'll be visiting Portland multiple times next summer. So, thanks to everyone who has offered the hospitality, I imagine I'll be taking some of you up on it.
  6. Exactly. It's stupid for merchants to accept it, too, because in the event of a fraudulent transaction with an unsigned card, VISA can choose not to pay them.
  7. People get wayyy too stressed out and uptight over weddings. No plans to get married ever again, but if I did... I'd rather just have some cake, hang out with some friends and family, then get on with the honeymoon. Stress sucks.
  8. It's good practice not to give any other identification with a major credit card, and I've challenged several merchants on this. Usually, I just state "my signature is on the back of the card, that's the only identification required" and they don't push further. Handing over your driver's license puts you at risk for identity fraud, especially if your state puts your social security number on the ID. (Do any states do this anymore?) Then you end up with the cashier having your credit card number, and if they can memorize it quickly, your address and driver's license number too. That's a bad combination, in the hands of an identity thief. Some people say to write "SEE ID" on the back of the card, so the cashier is supposed to ask for ID. Totally bad advice for several reasons... don't listen to it!
  9. What about setting up an online bookstore for the veganbodybuilding site through Amazon Affiliates or something similar through another company? If we each submitted a list of our favorite vegan cookbooks, vegan literature, and other books/movies/music related to bodybuilding, fitness, or being vegan, we'd have a nice collection to work with. Oh, and blenders.. I bought one of those on amazon, too. It'd make a terrific resource for someone who finds the site and is interested in becoming vegan... to have links to all the best books, as selected by our members. I've personally spent at least three hundred bucks at amazon in the past year or so, and will probably continue to shop there, often based upon recommendations made in these forums. So, I'd like it if "up to 8.5%" of my future purchases (which I'll make anyway) benefitted our group.
  10. It's not a good idea, it's a great idea. I think it could be done fairly, as well. Not off the top of my head, but with all of us brainstorming, I bet we'll come up with some ideas. Covering lodging and food for everyone would be awesome.
  11. I'm gonna do the same with a banana... while I ponder driving time to madre/hobson abode.
  12. I'd like to try it... even if it's just to see how many minutes I can last before I smack myself really hard in the head. Does look like fun, though... and cool to watch.
  13. New York Times!! Too cool! The more people that learn that we don't eat twigs and bark, the better. This part made me giggle.
  14. I thought about getting a keeper. Then I found out there was something else, called a Diva cup that was similar. And there's a moon cup, which is the same thing but made from silicone. Just to make things a bit more complicated, they come in multiple sizes, too.. and too big or too small would be equally bad. I'm not entirely sure how to determine the size of my vagina. There is apparently no scientific formula like what jewelers use to size rings. For $35 plus shipping, I want to get it right on the first try. So, needless to say, I haven't ordered one yet. But I have cut down on waste by switching to applicatorless tampons recently. I thought they would be harder to use, but they're not. And they fit much better in my purse or pocket, so I'm pleased.
  15. Yeah, I know... I'm stuck here just a bit longer, though.
  16. We can have a bake-off and call it "Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the Vegan Vacation"
  17. I wish I could go. Some days, I hate geography.
  18. Ok, something to add to the list: 7. Someone ought to be in charge of the logistics of feeding 30 or so people for a week. Do we cook in teams, and plan ahead of time who is on kitchen duty and what we're serving on what days? Do we plan just a few collective meals during the week and fend for ourselves the rest of the week? Or will it be strictly BYOM (bring your own munchies) all week and take turns using the kitchen if necessary? Are there any restaurants nearby? No matter what, I think it'll require a bit of planning, and I personally wouldn't know where to begin. (I'd be willing to cook some, though..)
  19. As long as it's not any hotter than Houston, I'll be happy.
  20. I can put a list of travel sites together within the next couple of days and post as a thread in the VV07 forum... and continue to work on the dates thing.
