And to the person posting above me, thanks for that link and googling my stats, haha. I'm eating between 1100 and 1700 calories a day based on how much I run. I also cut peanut butter out of my diet because I think I used to eat way too much. I've also started to make hemp protein shakes which are gross. Does anyone have any good recipes for hemp protein? -

It has been forever since I have posted. I'm still at a solid 120. But, I just ran my first half-marathon. I'm so proud of myself that I signed up for another one in October. I'm going to train differently this time by adding some conditioning and strength training after my runs. -

I'm really bad at keeping up with this. So it's now 2009! I'm training for a half marathon in May. I'm doing Team in Training which is an awesome organization that provides training support while fund raising for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. If you would like to donate my link is http://pages.teamintraining.org/ri/Provid09/enewton. Running is the greatest exercise ever. I ran 10 miles for the first time last week and it was awesome. I've come to the conclusion that I'm a compact little girl and I don't care that I'm kind of muscular. I hope everyone is doing really well. -

thanks! I'll try to eat better and get back soon to update, hopefully with better results. I hate being tired all the time. -

Hi everyone! I'm back and still struggling with my diet and exercise regime. This is a picture of me last month. I've probably gained 3 solid pounds since then. My diet sucks and I have 0 time to cook because of work and school. I'm also incredibly tired all the time. I probably need to eat more fresh food rather than pb&j and subway. Also I've been drinking more coffee. I feel like I can't function without a long nap everyday and since I'm 20 I feel like that should not be the case. Sorry I'm always asking for help. I can't figure out how to balance my diet/life. -
I've been absent for a while now, but I'm back for real this time. I'm going back to school on Tuesday (I'm commuting) and I have time between classes for lunch. The dining halls don't have much that I can eat so I bought a lunch box and an ice pack (which makes me feel like I'm 7) so that I can brown bag it. Does anyone have any vegan lunch box ideas? I'm really interested in sandwich ideas besides the peanut butter and jelly (which are my favorite!) that would be good and will keep until noon in a lunch box. Thanks everyone!

I haven't been here in a while, but I'm back. I'm at 120 right now but my goal is to be 115 by my 20th birthday on September 7th. Thanks for all the advice. -

Not really relevant to the point of this topic but I'm really happy right now. On June 3 my timed mile was 7.57 Today June 19 my timed mile was 7.34 I might not be getting thinner, but I am getting faster. -

I second that question. I seem to only lose weight if I eat under 1200 cal and exercise a lot. It's horrible and I'm hungry.

In the book they say that we only need between 18-60 grams of protein per day. They recommend exercise like biking on the weekends or taking walks after dinner. Personally, if I don't work out hard everyday, I will gain weight fast and it's no fun.

Point is, I've been at a plateau at 122 for about a year (with some ups and downs) and it's really frustrating since I've been kicking my ass running everyday. Hopefully weight training will kick it up a little and get this gross fat off my body. -

Thanks for all the advice! I really am taking it ALL into consideration. I'm at 20% body fat, and my goal is to lose 5% by the time I go back to school in September. I've been following the Body Sculpting Bible (the girl one) 3 times a week in addition to my running everyday. Trying to be in shape like all of you is tough. -

haha, I know. Juicing sounds like hard work because you have to make it yourself with a bunch of ingredients that I have never seen in a store. I'm sure I can find it all somewhere. Here's a story: I worked at a deli last year (I was a vegetarian at the time) and this man came in and said he was doing a "detox". He then ordered egg whites with feta cheese and a few veggies on whole wheat. I couldn't believe he thought that this was a way to detox. I bet it did not work too well. Also, a rather large woman came in with her 3 kids who were all allergic to soy and when I told her I eat a lot of tofu and soy products she said "that's not good for you, research is going to come out soon to prove it". She doesn't eat soy because she's allergic, just like someone with a nut allergy doesn't eat nuts. I told her that tofu has been around for thousands of years and if there was something wrong with it, people would have stopped eating it long ago. That's it. *I have no friends to tell these stories to so please don't mind me. -

I'm sure I only take in 1000-1200. I measure all of my serving sizes and I write it all down. I'm very anal about it. I'm also pretty sure that being on Zoloft for so long messed up my body and specifically my metabolism, there really is no other way to explain it. I had a trainer for a while who told me that I wasn't losing weight because I didn't eat meat. And then he suggested that I drink 5-6 cups of green tea. While I think green tea is fantastic and good for you, I don't think it's going to make me lose weight. So I got rid of the guy.
