  1. I stopped a few minutes in, I could be wrong but I got the feeling that the whole film would have the negative tone of 'how we are destroying everthing' which I don't really want to watch tbh. Watching it would just create more negative beliefs (or reinforce existing ones) about the atrocities of humanity which I don't want to do. We are a beautiful and intelligent species and we are in the middle of a learning process! In time I believe these damaging things humanity do will cease naturally and do not have to be opposed as such. "If you hold an anti-war rally, I shall not attend. But if you hold a Pro-Peace rally invite me." - Mother Teresa There is such a big difference between anti-animal mistreatment and pro-animal wellbeing/care Which would you rather focus on? What one focuses on, one attracts more of into their life - Napoleon Hill I loved the bit at the beginning where it hinted at all life being equal and connected/not seperate. That was awesome.
  2. "All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." ....but is always subject to change
  3. I do believe that everything is theoretical until experienced. That is to say, what is a theory to you, may be a fact for me. I have seen unexplained paranormal stuff. So it's a theory until you see it, experience it for yourself. What is one person's theory, is another person's fact. Ah but how do you know your occular recepticles and other tools of perception weren't malfunctioning? But this is being nitpicky, I totally see your point and believe it. What is one person's theory, is another person's fact. The only thing seperating the two is belief. However, that being said, I do not think that "do your best to live your life according to how you are guided inwardly", in your heart/mind, is a theory. I agree We don't see things how they are, we see things how we are. (some quote I saw at one point). Excellent also. "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right" ftw This reminds me of Micheal Jordan being too short when he was a teenager and he hung by his arms from monkey bars for hours on end believing it would make him taller.
  4. I'm not saying so called knowledge doesn't have it's uses obviously. I'm just saying it has its limits. But when it gets to this point or to the point it got to earlier in this thread where people are fighting and stressing themselves out trying to prove they are right it's gone a bit too far in my opinion. We can dispute all day about what we 'know' but at the end of it all we're all equally clueless. Bear this in mind when discussing whatever and it will feel as if a massive load has been taken off your back...you no longer have to prove yourself.
  5. This thread makes me laugh, seriously. All science, all facts, all universal truths at the end of the day are hypothetical. They are theories. Everything we know is theoretical. True science accounts for this and compensates for the possibilty that at any moment any previous theory, fact or knowledge may be contended/challenged/completely thrown out by new research. Anything other than this is Dogma. Self - authoritative and not to be disputed, doubted or diverged from. At the end of the day none of us really know anything for certain. We just believe we do. It is only natural for people to believe that they do and consequentially take on concepts and knowledge as if it is the complete and utter truth and always will be. When we do this our beliefs about things become a part of us as is evident by what happens once our beliefs are challenged by someone else. When this happens we take great offence because it is like a personal insult, an attack on who we are almost, because our beliefs are a large part of what makes us unique. It's a reminder that we don't really know anything and it unsettles us. Face up to this and live with it otherwise you will always experience some form of conflict within you. The part of you that thinks you are 'right' and 'know' and the part that thinks you are 'wrong' and 'don't know' So please people don't take things too seriously because at the end of the day everything is just theory, even what is widely regarded as 'fact' I see all these posts of people writing scientific terms to validate their own beliefs and it cracks me up. I used to do this (no doubt I sometimes still do) and I know that it feels terrible! As I wrote, it was as if by writing I was reassuring myself that I 'know' and that everything will be ok. And then when the other person disagrees you get conflict going on inside you and it stays on your brain. You just haveto think of a way to prove yourself and enlighten the other ('wrong') person. Only Bigz himself can know whether or not he has maintained that physique on the diet he says and if he has been honest. If he has not been honest then it is not even our concern and it should not bother us! If he has been truthful and it works for him then Great! We should be happy and encouraging whether or not we personally think he may be being dishonest! There is no 'one size' fits all programme, what works for one person may not work for another. Everything is theoretical. The only way we could know for sure that Arsenic for example, is poisonous (When we say 'Arsenic is poisonous' we always assume it means for everyone) is to test it out on every single human that ever lived. For all we know there might be a gene that means some people benefit from consuming arsenic! Even if this wasn't to be the case the conclusion that 'Arsenic is poisonous' would still be theoretical and subject to change (i.e. no way of knowing future humans will benefit/be unaffected). I hope this made some sense to at least one person.
  6. Cheers for feedback Johan. I'm starting to think I'd be much better off buying 20 quids worth of organic nuts for protein and leaving it at that rather than shelling out the equivalent or more on powder. Seems to me that there's two sides to all the protein powder products! Can't be bothered wit the hassle of finding out what's what tbh.
  7. Came across this link and would be interested to know what everyone thinks, obviously I do not intend to buy from this guy but the info in the sales pitch is interesting re protein powders. http://www.proteinbreakthrough.com/
  8. : Yeah stay away from sucralose imo as it's said to be worse than normal white refined sugar! Normal sucrose is considering by many doctors to be poison. Sucralose is a derivitive of sucrose lol.
  9. No way!!!! How did I miss that... I swear I used the search tool honest! Awesome form in the videos! From my view it looks like you're locking your arms out already most of the time Edit: That Alan Jones dude is THE MAN Holy Shitake Shrooms
  10. I don't get it why would protein powders age us or be detrimental to our health? Does this apply to the raw vegan powders like sunwarrior also?
  11. Yeah fun isn't it! No I hardly did any before this. Trying to see how far I can take this and whether or not it's realistic training to beat the world record one day. My goal for until the end of January is to do the 6 sets of 35 each day and seeing how things go I either want to increase the number of sets or the number of reps each month and continue working on form.
  12. You da man Sosso! +10 Running Total: 3615 Were you training pushups much before this thread?
  13. I intend to stay a member of this forum for as long as I can keep learning stuff and contributing here so no issue. More people will join in I am sure also Plus another 35 to combat above post lol Running Total: 3505
  14. Thoughts are not localized in the brain. Yeah I could believe that, there are those stories of people receiving organ transplants and having dreams/reliving memories as the other person. I think there was a young girl who recieved the heart of a murder victim and ended up solving the murder with knowledge that only the victim/donor could have known. Truth or myth it still intrigues the hell out of me. Lyn McTaggart's 'The Field' talks about this as well I think. Man is this off topic or what lol!
  15. There is no escape. YOU and I are both DOOMED lol! I agree, I don't think we retain any form of consciousness. That would be a bit crazy being a bird or a tree and thinking about your previous time as a human. I just don't think our essence is lost so to speak. ...Future tree laughs to itself remembering about the time it was a guy called Robert and he was posting about death.
  16. Healing with Whole Foods - Paul Pitchford The Green Foods Bible - David Sandoval Chocolate Busters and Ultimate Fast Food by Jason Vale Sugar Blues - William Dufty Solitary Fitness - Charles Bronson Way of the Peaceful Warrior - Dan Millman A New Earth, Practising the Power of Now - Eckhart Tolle Unlimited Power, Awaken the Giant Within - Anthony Robbins Total Self-Confidence - Dr. Robert Anthony Cosmic Ordering - Barbel Mohr Zero Limits - Joe Vitale Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill
  17. I seriously recommend the books 'Way of the Peaceful Warrior' by Dan Millman and Eckhart Tolle's books ('A New Earth' and 'Practising the Power of Now' especially). Some of you might have seen Eckhart Tolle, he was on Oprah a while back. I personally stay away from Icke, I heard he talks about conspiracy stuff a lot which I avoid now...makes no sense reading it really because learning a load of negative stuff that may or may not be true about how the world is run is secretly in control of the Jews or lizards or whatever didn't serve me. I got all hyped up thinking 'OMG!!! and worrying like mad about the NWO (lol). Same reason I don't read the papers, a mate of mine is from Palestine where all the trouble is and he mentionned whats been happening recently and because I don't read the papers/watch the tv I didn't know about it. He was really offended that I didn't know 'what awful stuff was happening' and my point was 'whats the point of knowing?' Just knowing about it, getting yourself worked up is pointless when you're unable to help with the situation. I said to him, 'What are you doing about it?' and he said nothing obviously. That's my point right there! There's just as much good things happening in the world but the media ignore all that don't they? I'd say at least 85% of news media around here is negative. Check this out re: 9/11 and the idea of some sort of global consciousness/awareness. http://www.glcoherence.org/monitoring-system/about-system.html Re: Richard That is a good point and I do feel what you're saying. I'm not saying it's not understandable to fear death though, or I didn't mean it to come across like that. Though I think it's more a fear of pain and fear of the unknown. I do enjoy Life immensely though, I don't position myself under falling trees if that's what you mean. It's hard to express what I mean through words to be honest. Death to me isn't as much the end, more of change. Like a metamorphasis. Say one of my family members died yesterday, I wouldn't want to be depressed I would prefer to feel grateful and happy for the time I have spent with them. Then again maybe my brain just wants to justify and rationalise my beliefs so I can feel comfortable with my outlook on death and therefore not fear it? We all fear what we don't understand lol. I guess the end all is that we don't know period. Maybe I should stop trying to know???? Thanks for the discussion chaps, no more, my head hurts now...
  18. The song 'taxi' and the female vocalist on the soundtrack from Man on Fire is FAB. Movie is great too
  19. Interesting stuff, I also believe everything is one. Before it was thought that the Universe consisted of two things only; Energy and Matter. Recent quantum physics studies to my memory suggest or support the notion that Matter is just Energy also, zoom into particles and you get the subatomic particles, well I think they studied them closer and found nothing except measurements of frequency in other words; Energy. If this is right then the whole idea of us being seperate is an illusion. If the whole world was Blue then we wouldn't even know it, we wouldn't call it blue because how would we know what blue is without something to compare it to? Without differentiation? So if everything is just Energy how the hell can we not be interconnected vibrationally to every single other 'thing' 'in the Universe?' (We ARE PART OF the Universe but you know what I mean lol) Death is also unimportant to me. It annoys me how the global mindset is to cover it up and treat death like a terrible thing. The Horror(!!!!) Death is not the end imo because energy cannot be destroyed, so upon death 'our energy' must simply transmute into the surroundings at our time of death...the ground, the animals etc. If anyone here has read Way of the Peaceful Warrior or Eckhart Tolle you will know what I'm talking about ...More thoughts to be posted soon (I love VBBF, I can come here and discuss stuff like this that my peers would laugh at and then go get drunk) but I have to go to the shop for my folks.
  20. Cool! Yeah it must be serious making decisions like that with so many responsibilities but with that attitude I'm sure you'll prevail. (...Is it me or does nearly everyone on this forum have the 'glass half full' mindset???*) *i.e. The correct mindset
  21. Some people will do crazy things won't they?! Personally I'd reject actual under the knife surgery unless it was absolutely necessary. Just my biased two cents since I'm skinny I guess. Keep training and Power to ya Pinko!
  22. Welcome to the place to be Roy! I am with you on resolutions and not making them lightly lol...I have about 5 pages of resolutions for this year, all stuck to so far
  23. I'm not surprised your dissatisfied and restless Roy, especially since you clearly have passions in health and fitness. Have you thought much about doing teaching sports or something? I'm not really in a position to give advice because I'm 17 and don't have a clue what I want to do for a living yet, (vaguely thinking of being a fireman though) all I can say is find a way to incorporate what you're passionate about into your work (if possible) if not then save your sanity! Switching to a new career that interests you would be worth so much more, even if starting out on lower pay I guess. I'm currently working standing in a shop selling chocolate, newspapers and magazines full of crap, and cigarettes Not meaning to hijack the thread or anything but to those that also reply could you say a bit about what you do for money? (Long as you're comfortable obv) Bodybuilding must be time consuming and I'm curious what everyone does. (I'm sure you are as well Roy?)
