  1. Thank you Chris. You are right. I guess there are vegans out there that are allergic to soy and still they enjoy veganism.

Yes, I have acces to whole wheat breads, they are the only ones I eat The "organic" food in here is usually not healthy food at all hehehe, for example they sell a breakfast cereal that is 99,8% sugar xD Dry beans are really cheap and easy to find and brown rice too.

  2. That's far different

I always wash my nuts before eating them. Mum thinks I'm crazy. She's all like," You're nut supposed to wash Almonds ". I say," I don't care. I'll do it anyways ".

I also like to add a little raisin to the bunch before washing.

I used to wash my Pasta too before cooking. But I don't anymore.

You know, it never occurred to me, but one day I rinsed them and the taste of the flesh was so much better, so I always wash them before eating them.

PS. My mum says Im crazy too xD

  3. Im no expert here, but I can tell you that bodybuilders are close to find the perfect workout as an alchemist is close to find the philosopher's stone.

Instead of trying workouts try to see how your body responds to each excercise. Is amazing that a lot of people can train years in the gym and never realise what is the best for their type of body.

For example my body responds very good with light weight and large repetitions. Also my body seems not to like too much cable excercises. It takes only a few weeks to find out what excercises are the best for your body and from there you can build your own workout plan

    Good luck!

  4. Well, actually Im from Venezuela, and Im from a small town where there are no vegan products.. no tofu, no soymilk and Ive never seen hemp in my life

So I guess my muscles will have to be built in a more natural way than with vega or other vegan supplements hehehe

Thank you, I wanted to know if I was eating enough.

My dieat is pretty much based on carbs and some proteins, very low in fat. I do eat fruits, I love them, so much that sometimes I just like to lunch two apples and two bananas

Ill try to drink a beverage made from soy that I found a while ago in a market, its vegan, thats why it never came back hehehe people dont like it.

  5. Hi everyone.

Well, this week I started to work really hard in the gym (Or well, what is hard for me because Ive only been a month in the gym). I have some doubts about the relation between diet and recovery time.

I eat three times a day, Ive tried small amounts of food 5 times a day but it doesnt work for me.

I dont know how should I eat or what should I eat to get fast recovery, gain muscles and avoid injury.

Currently Im eating pretty much like this:

    WORKOUT

Breakfast: 1 Cup and a half of soy milk with two cups of granola (Raisins and peanuts).

Lunch: Pita bread with vegetables and a small bowl of beans cream (I just throw the cooked beans, grains, garbanzo or others into the mixer, is easier on stomach )

Dinner: Pita bread with raw vegetables and 48 grams of peanuts.

    Water during the day.

    Any advice?

  6. These guys look absolutely awful. If bodybuilding is about roids, cheating, etc. - it's definitely not what I want to be a part of. Besides, what's so damn exciting about seeing an absurdly muscular guy and knowing that if not for drugs, he would be nowhere near that size? "Wow, drugs worked wonders for this piece of meat." "Yeah, they did." In my opinion, it would be a million times more interesting to see what could people achieve with just hard work, proper nutrition, etc. (i.e. naturaly), instead of looking at a bunch of dumbasses whose muscles got inflated like balloons due to taking toxic shit into their mouths (and veins). It's getting clearer and clearer to me why so many people (including a lot of weightlifters, powerlifters, etc.) despise BBing and refer to it only when joking.

I know people usually see the steroid thing as cheating, and of course it is! But you dont get strong and big muscles just because you take steroids...you have to work and when I say work I mean WORK xD I dont know why eerybody thinks that if you use steroids you get big and muscular without exercising at all xD

  7. The entire "China study" is based on rat experimentation...

even though it bothers me too that they used rats in their experiments i think that's exaggerating

Allright allright... not the entire study... but the most interesting and informative parts of the book always have an study on rats.

  8. Can we please stop referring to animal experimentation just for the hell of it. If there's some actual scientific study that someone wants to post about that used rats, fine, we can take that for what it's worth. This is a vegan board, and believe it or not some of us take offense to off-hand comments about injecting shit into rats. I'm not going to use expressions like "kill two birds with one stone" please stop shooting off unneeded references to animal experimentation.

This is becoming really common now. Ive heard vegans advocating for the results in "The china study", and I always think, ...arent you a vegan because of the animals? The entire "China study" is based on rat experimentation...

  9. Oh boy

Well I love coffee, but I know that the amounts of caffeine are up to the sky, so now I drink barley coffee, is really good and it doesnt have caffeine. I think in Japan is called Barley Tea.

I also like tea, black tea, oolong tea, green tea and yerba mate. Isnt really that healthy? Everyday I take two cups of tea, one with the breakfast and one with the lunch. Usually black in the morning and green in the afternoon.

Why so many people say that caffeine is not good even in small amounts?

  10. Hi guys, thank you for your help!

    Let me see...

    Vivalasvegans...Im on vacations...Im not stressed

I think Ill go like that Hilary. I actually eat very clean, Im kinda picky and I watch carefully what I put in my mouth.

Vegan Joe, I actually dont know but this is how I eat usually, two arepas in the morning whic are like a sandwich made of corn and oat flour, I add some oats flakes to this and also grinded flax seeds.

After the work out I usually take a soy milk shake with a powder that is made for babies, it has a high protein level and is natural so I like it.

In the lunch I eat usually rice, beans and a potato or a fruit. I can also change the beans and rice for whole wheat pasta with TVP a la bolognese

Afternoon I always eat some fruit.

And at 6 I eat beans, rice and a fruit or seitan.

Maybe Im eating too much proteins

  11. Hi everyone.

Allright, so Ive been bulking up for two weeks now and I can see the difference in my body. Usually my torso starts to get big and Im noticing its bigger. Im not a big fan of abdominals, I have some problems doing them but I try. The thing is Im getting a lifesaver around my waist. I dont want a six pack but I dont want a beer belly either, the sad thing is that...the rest of my body is still skinny!!!!

So I guess Im one of those guys who is Skinnyfat. Any ideas so I can avoid to look like Mr potato? Thanks guys!
