  1. Thanks guys! I will think about those ideas! I tried myofascial release but it didn't do enough, but she did recommend acupuncture. I may give it a try. Why not.... I do know the sports medicine group and surgeon who did my knee and shoulder so I could start there.....but I am not sure what they could do when an underlying disease is causing the pain in my hands and feet. I just started treatment so I am hopeful. It is so hard not being able to do pushing exercises, not used to it or anything too heavy for triceps.
  2. Hi all, I am 38 years old, been lifting and bodybuilding for over 20 years. I was a semi vegetarian for about 10 years and vegan for almost the past year and a half. I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and Babesiosis last fall and life has been hell, including my ability to lift. I have not much of anything in terms of a good program since last summer, due to pain and shaking. Over two years ago I separated my AC joint in a snowboard accident but came back strong. As a result I started treating my shoulder differently in workouts. Before I concentrated on presses, upright rows, some side raises, etc. This time around I started doing about 10 exercises for the shoulder, mostly on cables. I noticed some nice improvements and realized I had been missing out on the entire range of motion of the shoulder and may have prevented my injury, if only. Anyway, I am getting off topic. I was 6'2.5" and about 207 - 210 lbs last summer. I lost a lot of weight this year and am down to 185lbs. I look so thin and lacking so much muscle I once had. Part is eating so lean, so I lost any remaining fat but not being able to lift much, I lost lots of muscle! My wrist hurts so bad, I can't even do push-ups. My should makes noises now, pain down the arm, tingling and pain in the feet, hands and feet turning color, blotchy, elbow problems. I won't bore with details but I am looking for advice to hopefully get something going. My energy has been good and I can walk about 1 hour or less before my feet start to hurt too much. I am trying to get back into a program but I can't do any heavy pushing exercises, so I can only do cables and flies for chest. So frustrating. Last time I was in the gym I almost left in tears because I feel like a shell of my former self. Thanks, Rich
