  1. Yay! Good news! Hope he sticks to it. And as I tell my friends "Hey, I'm vegan, not a saint!" Welcome, Mike!
  2. It's simple: deadlifts, barbell rows, lots of food, may be tadasana from yoga. And some other asanas.
  3. He/she is actually right. Our natural food comes mainly from the trees, not from the fields. Geoengineering is harmful in many aspects. This does not mean to plant corn for animal food instead of soy for human food - it's all the same to the soil. Many people don't know that in this very moment the Amazon jungle is being cleared so Monsanto can plant their soy on the deforested ground. And yet again, the way the post was made is a bit rough and not well-thought (i.e. stupid ). Most of the Earth was once covered by forests.
  4. The good thing about going vegan is that you can eat more without worrying that you'll go overweight. I'm not well acquainted with bulimia but it doesn't sound unnatural to throw up after long periods of not eating. Your stomach hasn't had anything to do for a long time and then all the food comes in. Also, quick losses and gains in weight are usually water. That said, it is hard to judge from numbers:)
  5. Awesome!!! I'd so barter a copy for some tribulus! Congratulations, man!
  6. Yes, the key to it all is fun! Train for fun, sweat for fun! Enjoy your workout (so you can do it regularly;)! Now, on the nutrition issue - do not eat processed fat. Never. Simple as that. Ok, you may have a chocolate or something small but always check the fat contents. Sweet is allright if you can find it without added fat (hard, huh?). Of course, do not pour too much sugar into your stomach at once. You may want to focus on rice and whole grains (like, not grinded, no flour, no bread or at least not much). Of course, sweet fruit would be best if you like it. Aaaand - make yourself a diet that you enjoy! Fun is the key to everything!
  7. Lol...they had 20 bananas, they ate them It often happens that I eat 5 bananas but 20...heroic Now the bananas are kind of unripe and a bit green. The oranges though, are cheap and tasty. I eat 3-5 in one meal.
  8. I am on the 80/10/10 ... not diet, way of living. It works fine. 2 huge disadvantages: you buy the food, especially in winter, and you pee more often. Especially when oranges are discounted. But I'm feeling wonderful on it
  9. Strange. the 80/10/10 diet is about performance. I can train 2 times a day on it and it's the only way to recover from a 2 hours judo training in a couple of hours (to train a second time). May be the fruit you ate was not sweet enough? Or you underate? It's easy to undereat on this diet because it takes a great amount of fruit to match the energy equivalence of dry food.
  10. Not human...another species. Or actually - a real human!
  11. Haha, no, I am not going to sell any foods. One reason is that I refuse to deal with the Bulgarian food administration. Doing paperwork for sake of paperwork implies that you are guilty until proven innocent (paperwork done), which I find wrong. Another reason is that I am already almost a 100% raw food fruitarian and IMO all the food is already out there on the market. But.....it is a good idea and I will consider selling some under the counter It is going to be an ethical shop for alternatives to leather and for inspirational books and items. Other that that, you are welcome to drop by for any reason. My brother still has some spare tribulus plants which I think you can have.
  12. One possible reason are the oligosaccharides that we can not digest.
  13. Fantastic! Very charming. Good luck with it, I'd definitely visit if it was in Europe. Lucky Aussies! Nice website too.
  14. Hello guys, I am trying to start an online (for now) vegan shop. I am looking for a template which i could modify. There are a couple of people here with experience. If you have any good suggestions, please let me know. I am looking for a simple ordering form, WITHOUT accounts. I want it to be easy - just click and grab, no need to remember passwords or bother to create accounts. I am currently looking for one myself but I thought you might have some suggestions. Thank you in advance!
  15. Just be vegan. Prepare your own food, eat it privately so you don't depend on what they serve on the table. If you still want to sit on their table, have a drink with them (it will be a lot easier for you if you have eaten before it). And if they don't appreciate this, tell them to go to hell (which I would do first but may be you are not me )
  16. I can recommend C.O.R.F.I.T (www.corfit.com). There are wonderful textbooks which some other schools use. It is not vegetarian, much less vegan but it is open minded and not sectarian at all. Also a very enjoyable experience, very friendly and down to earth. Strong science and a solid practical component.
  17. Sorry, but I don't think you totally understand what my mother is unhappy with. She isn't happy that I am vegan while I am still growing, as she thinks it is effecting my mood and body as I am still growing. I am not trying to be rude. I do:) All women want action, not talk. And attitude. You may be Ronnie Coleman but if you don't help in the house, there's probably something wrong with you. As a fitness professional, I know how extremely hard it is to convince people in things that they do not care about. Only results and action help! Therefore, help with the house (this means you are in perfect health), ask her to teach you how to cook something vegan (social moment that she will enjoy). Convincing someone that veganism is healthier is very hard. It means changing their life. How you wake up, what books you read ... Don't scare her, people don't want to change, especially after 25. And you are her boy, she wants to take care about you. Teaching you something like cooking would make her feel that she has done something for you and she will be proud with her boy. Apart from this, do not let anyone, especially relatives, influence you. And in this world, you can make only yourself happy. You can help people but just to give them a lift off from time to time. Otherwise they will either feel pushed too hard or will grow dependent on you - either case is counterproductive for happiness. You can, of course, tell her to go to hell but I don't think you want to treat her this way, therefore I'm suggesting the above
  18. Simply don't eat non vegan meals, it's not that hard. No need to explain yourself either. And I'd suggest washing your own dishes and may be cooking for yourself. Ask her to teach you to cook the vegan foods she knows.
  19. It is against human nature. Our primary fuel is glycogen (carbohydrate). No glycogen = the body breaks down the amino acids into N-OH and C and uses the carbon. So on this diet you are breaking up muscle. (I don't know how it works on steroids but I guess the body won't be feeling very comfortable). Why the keto diet works: because it's a shock for the body and it frantically burns everything to survive. It thinks it's dying. Why the keto diet doesn't work: you lose 20 pounds (10 water, 5 muscle and 5 fat!). Then you stop the diet (because you cannot live on it long) and you put your 20 pounds back once the shock is over. But this time it's 10 water and 10 fat. Then people say 'I had no will to complete it, it's my fault'. No, it is not your fault, simply this diet is anti-human. It might work for dogs Get enough glycogen (possibly from fruit), don't eat fat, you'll lose weight. Stop milk = top caseine = stop cellulite. Hope this helps!
  20. Eh....the girl looks fine, especially for her age, which is...? And there are no icons. You are you, not someone else.
  21. The thing is that each living cell is made of protein. Therefore almost every food is a source of protein. Unless it's just an ingredient extracted from another food, like oil for example. If you eat the whole sunflower seed, you get protein, carbs and oil. Most plant sources have globular protein which is easy to digest while meat has fibrous protein which is harder to digest. That is why 'meat replacements' are not a good idea - after the processing, the soy/wheat globular protein in them denatures and assumes a fibrous structure which is hard to digest. Apart from that, the percentage of protein in the food depends on the amount of water contained in it as well. Since vegetables and fruits mostly contain water, they have a very low percentage per 100 grams because most of these 100 grams are water. The girl says that broccoli has more protein in a calorie which may be right because you eat a very large amount of broccoli to get a few calories. But it still puts less load on your digestion than a small steak. For example if you eat a whole bread (something I've done many times), you eat 700 grams (for the average bread in Bulgaria) , 8 grams of protein in each 100 grams, that makes 7 x 8 = 56 grams of protein in a bread. If you eat 200 grams of meat, you roughly get 40 grams of protein -> less protein total (considerably less if you eat pork or beef). Still, raw food is easier to digest than bread and doesn't make you heavy. So the percentage of protein really doesn't matter. If it did, we'd only eat protein powders.
