Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and I would like to post my pictures. I'm a raw food vegan and have been for nearly a year. Last year in January I started weight lifting hard and went from weighing 155lbs to 195lbs mid summer. This was eating a standard American diet. Then I got really into the depths of nutrition and went vegetarian to vegan then finally to all raw. During the winter I lost a ton of weight and muscle and weighed down to 160lbs, which was like a detox faze. I have started back up and I'm now weighing 175lbs and going. So here is the link to my photos, thanks for any comments and critiques.

The VBF 30 Day Raw Food Challenge is here!!!
Starting When: 1st of July.
Where: Right here...in your VBF blog/training journal!
The VBF 30 Day Raw Food Challenge
Don't believe cook is adictive and wanna see what all the fuss is about?
Always wanted to give raw foods a try?
Want to go raw but need more support?
Need to give you body a good clean out?
Need to increase your raw intake?
Well c'mon, now's your chance....
The VBF 30 Day Raw Food Challenge
Purpose: stay raw for 30 days and use this challenge as a tool to achieve your personal raw lifestyle goals!
Going raw for 30 days is really a drop in the ocean as far as actually living the "raw lifestyle" and is not an accurate indication of how it's going to be forever, infact you can bet your bottom dollar that you will go through many changes if you stick at it, going raw is a slow process, so relax and enjoy it, there's no rush, experiment on new raw produce, eat your favourite fruits and have fun with the whole thing.
Research material and things you may experience:
I recommend you research fully before jumping into this challenge, go here for info on detox and a range of other things that will help you understand and find your way.
If you don't understand anything to do with the raw lifestyle/detox go here, chances are it's there.
http://z12.invisionfree.com/FLF/index.php?showtopic=1857
Your Personal Goals:
During the 30 days you make up your own personal goals and use this challenge as a tool to achieve them, for example if you want to lose wieght then go for it (photo's are optional), if you want to incorporate the diet and fitness thing and record progress then that's great too,or you may just want to experience the raw thing for as long as you can, it's all down to you, just make sure you state your goals in your log/blog.
Who's in???
Further Details on Coming Soon!!!!!

Both of you should join the vegan vacation at least for a few days! That would be soooo great to see two "raw gurus"!
Ha,ha...guru's don't like me very much because I threaten their ability con people out of their money!
I'm sure one day we'll meet up but money is tight as always.....
-
If money was no object, I would get a full back piece done, from my shoulders to the back of my knees.
A Unicorn on it's back legs in a forest glade, with sun streaming from the clouds and leaves and flowers swirling in the wind.
That sounds like it would be pretty impressive!

My friend already has ordered 2 more of David`s books and will definitely check out the websites! Where did you meet David Klein? His Story is so interesting and motivating. I loved reading his book and will read the ones my friend ordered as well!
We never had the chance to meet yet, he's in Sebastol but we talk on the phone regularly and I'm also in this seasons magazine.
He's one of the good guys.

Does anybody know of any that they can post here?

Not to try to deter you (or even to try to bring up a negative point) or anything, I know you have a number of tattoos, but how much of your body are you planning on inking though? For someone who works out as much as you for muscle definition and everything, do you think it messes with your general "look"?
Bringing the negative point is the only thing I expect from you Odidnetne!
Hey Pelican,
That tree you had done is really nice man.....congrats on that one!
I always wanted big pieces done but could never afford it, so I ended up having bits and peices here and there by artists from areas that I moved to, the best artists I had were in Bristol but it's my goal now to get some good work done as opposed to budget work by random artists!
-
How about first $100,000...it will take 1/10 the time and its more than enough to cover your ink...mine too if you want to thank me for the suggestion.
It would probably cost that much too!!!
Having said that to get what I want would probably take a whole week to get done.....but recently I've seen some great work on myspace from a couple of vegan artists from portland that's got me feening!!!
What would you have done if you had the choice and if money/time was no object?
-
When I make my first million I'm gonna go to Portland and get more tattoo's, all the best vegan tattooists seem to be in Portland, I'd have some work going down my butt/legs and a big suckah going down my back, maybe a set of butterfly wings or a pheonix!!!
Oh well I can only dream.....

Good News!
A friend of mine was diasgnosed colitis ulcerosa a few month ago and started medical treatmnet soon after.
Since I read this book a while ago I talked a lot to him about the role of nutrition and soon he read the book, too.
Then he desided to perform the switch from SGD (Standard German Diet) to an almost raw healing diet as descriped in the book. The author used the principles of natural hygiene and his personal experience to develope a healing diet for colitis and crohns.
The results:
1. On the first day there was already a noticable improvement!
2. After one week my friend stopped using his medication!
3. Now, about 4 weeks later, he has almost no symptoms anymore, normal bowel movements, no signs of inflammation in the blood.
4. Of course he lost some weight (about 25 pounds) due to detox, but he is more than willing to pay this price
5. He will carefully introduce more foods into hsi diet during the next month.
So cool.....
I know David Klien and he's a great guy"one of the good guru's (don't tell him I called him a guru )
Anyway he has a raw food forum called livingnutrition.com and a magazine of the same name, your friend should check it out!!!

Best Results I ever got was from Full Body training 3X a week, with no rest in between exercises. The other 3 days I would do HIIT Cardio... (Sunday was my off day)
I only used free weights and took 2-5 minutes to rest after each set. 3 sets of 6-8 different Exercises... Switch it up every 3 weeks and enjoy the pay off...
I never worked to failure with each exercise and always picked weights that were challenging, but allowed me to finish my 6-8-10 reps I was shooting for... Then just keep adding weight as you improve. My goal each day of weights was finishing in around 20-30 minutes...
If you want to get cut/lean and gain some good lean muscle I find this is the best way!!! I made my own programs and I have not looked at most of the crazy HIT programs some people talk about? - Although mine might be considered crazy HA-HA - I don't know!!!
I know my way of training is HIT or considered HIT, but I never knew HIT involved training to failure!!!
Cheers,
Steve
Yeah I used to love doing HIT back in the day, but I always ran out of weights, there's so many variations, some go to failure some don't, some rest a week some don't....I always used to train to failure but I don't think that it was good for me or made that much of a difference muscle wise.
I think it's all about customising and adapting it to suit your style because I don't think that there's one size fits all routine that will do it all for you.
-
You can do what I did and do it but do it explosively, you can adapt it how ever you want to to meet your needs.
-
Yeah the whole idea behind the rest thing is that you train to failure and near your max weight and intensity so by the time your finished you will need the rest and if you don't then you didn't train hard enough...that's the whole premise.
The courts still out for me on this I found it hard to keep pounding out the heavy weights and make continous progress, I found that I simply used so much weight that I could barely get 5 reps out.
Other than that I like the whole intensity thing.
