  1. There's some more 'natural'-ish energy drinks out there. I think hansens makes one, there's probably a few others. I like the rockstar juice once but the company has some iffy associations politically that made me switch to monster for a bit. -a
  2. 115! You're a beast! Well done my friend. Or should I say... YEAH BUDDY! -a
  3. Form is getting better on the bench. 110 x 6, 5 (It may have been 5, 5... I didn't write it down) 105 x 6 on the incline got me a small ovation from a few dudes on the bench on Monday. I'm putting 200 on the leg press, dude comes over and asks to work in. I offer to pull some plates if he wants. Then he explains he has a leg injury and just wants to test it out with something light and kicks out as many reps as I do in a set on my non-injured legs. But I guess that's cool right, I mean my legs used to be crazy and I worked like woah on my upper body to bring that into alignment and now I think I load on the leg press just a lil more than I load on the flat bench. I could probably rock my legs out again pretty quick if I wanted to invest the work... but I like the way my jeans fit. Meanwhile. I just looked back at my first page. Not much change in strength I don't think. Maybe a bit but nothing crazy. I'm thicker but I weight a good 10 pounds more... I need to start running again once school's out. I bet I couldn't do an 8 minute mile let alone 5 7's. Also some pics. First one of each side is a year and a half ago or so. Second one of each is a few months back. But with these results from just throwing weight around 2x a week, no real plan or tracking or diet, I'm a happy camper - and I'm thinking I can probably maintain it without much issue. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/ajgm1/DSC00095.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/ajgm1/februarymarch08067.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/ajgm1/DSC00111.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/ajgm1/februarymarch08058.jpg edit to add a few more I found: 2000 ish (probably 10-20lbs under my peak weight) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/ajgm1/P9070021.jpg 2002 ish (this is after I lost 35lbs or so from my peak? no real activity difference, just went vegan and stopped eating total junk, lifting once a month maybe?) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/ajgm1/Pictureg.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/ajgm1/Pictureh.jpg 2004 maybe? (after I lost another 35?) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/ajgm1/Picture1-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/ajgm1/Picture6-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/ajgm1/Picture8-1.jpg 3-4 months of regular lifting after the 2004 ones. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/ajgm1/Picture30.jpg Growing up I was maybe 170-180... Got bigger in college. I think the highest I ever saw on a scale was 237. Lowest I ever saw on a scale was 167 but I'd guess I had a couple pounds under that at some point. I was skinnier than I ever remembered being. At one point I was sucking in gut to squeeze into 36" waist jeans (the baggy ones), on the other end I was slipping in to some 30s that were pretty snug too. Now I'm a 31" or so. Yeah buddy, -a
  4. Hey Rob, Are those a seated overhead press? You use a chair or a flat bench and just sit upright?
  5. 1 million slices of bacon by age 52. That's a lot of bacon. Nice find. -a
  6. I enjoy the clif builder bars. Sorry octo -a
  7. Loprinzi's has a dip belt if ya want to cut down on sets/reps and add weight. Also they've got these things there: http://place-an-ad.ajc.com/photos/0009/1738/armblaster2.jpg I just started doing curls again recently and I've been using that for some. Kind of fun. Keep up the hard work bro. Yeah buddy. -a
  8. I'm still around. I'm sure we'll all bump into each other sooner or later Nice to know you guys are keeping an eye out for me. I'm in on Monday and Thursday evenings, usually between 5 and 7... Meanwhile, note to self: 110x 5,3 flat 105x 4,4 incline And some other stuff... Yeah Buddy.
  9. Used to work out at the Y Tasha posted. Now I'm at Loprinzi's. I don't have photos but rob does. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwY8Y Looking at that UCF gym I'm thinking I should join 24 or my school's gym for some change of scenery though...
  10. I avoided lifts that caused me crazy amounts of pain (flat bench, pull ups, chinups) and cut my weights in half on the ones I could handle. It still hurt but I made it through. 6 weeks maybe 7 before I could start lifting heavier again.
  11. With the amount of other muscles he's using in that leg extension that's got to be considered a compound exercise... Right? ; )
  12. Yeah buddy I'm over at Loprinzis Monday and Thursday nights for an hour or two each night. Usually 5-7ish depending on when I get out of work. I'll keep an eye out for ya. -a
  13. You're beating me again on the 105s. Nice work. And if you're doing 70 in each hand on the curls I think you solved my chest:bicep ratio issue. I'm lucky to move 50s there and even then my form sucks and then I wonder why my arms look kind of small comparatively. Congrats on the gains, both in weight and in lifting focus. -a
  14. Healthier people and healthier animals. I'd take more of both.
  15. x2 Also, to answer live and lost - I would probably shrug off most advice I get at the gym, I don't trust that everyone there really knows their stuff. If it's someone I think might be right I'd google it at home.
  16. Geeze DV, that's rough. Glad you made it back safe though. My bro was stuck in AZ for two days on his way from StLouis to Pdx. My sis was stuck up in seatac too for a day but I can't imagine coming in 5 days late. Rob - Maybe one of those people you saw skiing was me! I got some skis on Tuesday and went from tabor to downtown and then back next day. It was a blast. -a
