We stayed at the Four Seasons again and took full advantage of their kick ass facilities. 2 hours of swimming 15 minutes on the treadmill 15 minutes on the stationary bike 100 crunches some light stretching A bunch of weight lifting - I'm completely unfamiliar with the terminology so I'm not even gonna try. All I know is I lifted some and and it hurt and I felt good. We went out for Thai food on Saturday night. First cooked food we've had in a while. The chef made us special vegan dishes again which was super cool. The food didn't sit right though. Cooked food is getting harder and harder to tolerate. My body doesn't want it anymore so I think I'm gonna have to listen to it once and for all.
  2. Thanks Barb. Good luck to your boyfriend!

  7. So many polls don't really use proper sampling methods though. And what's the point of them? It gives us the illusion that we have some power and influence in this world.
  8. How come I never knew this place existed! Going this weekend. I'll report back.
  9. I got dibs on the small tank top if it's still available -- Robert, I sent you an e-mail.
  10. Wow, I've been slacking with the workouts lately. Very bad. I've been feeling pretty tired lately and Ive been needing extra sleep... I think I might be going through another detox type of phase because of stepping up my raw food intake (about 90% of my diet is now raw). My latest favourite smoothie: brussel sprouts + banana + flax oil + water. Sounds gross, it sorta is, but is HAS to be healthy.
  11. I have no books to add I just wanted to say - awesome thread! I'm taking notes.
  12. The only bread-like product I eat now are the odd rice tortillas. I thought it would be super difficult to give up bread, but it was actually easy once the allergies disappeared and I realized how happy I was about that. I still can't believe it was wheat all this time. Why isn't this information out there in wide release? It's madness. I think I'll check out that book, Patrick, even though I'm mostly raw, a few good recipes can't hurt.
  13. veganpotter: Couscous has Gluten? Didn't know that. Thanks Yeah, aparently couscous is semolina wheat with a coating of finely ground wheat flour. I had no idea either. I'd been having a lot of it when my allergies were really bad.
  14. Sweet, I successfully infiltrated the store accounts newsletter and won their contest... all rather innocenly I might add.
  15. I entered the contest at the bottom of the newsletter a few days ago and I guess I was one of the first 10 because I just got an e-mail from Sequel Naturals saying I'd won a signed copy of the Thrive Diet and some Smoothie Infusion. Sweet. Thanks for posting this up Robert.
  16. Awesome! I really like pic #2. looking forward to seeing the rest of 'em.

  19. Quick update Well it's been a little over a month now of being 100% free from all wheat/gluten products and spring is now in full bloom. I'm happy to report that ALL SIGNS of my hayfever/allergies are gone. Completely gone. This is the first spring in my entire life that I haven't been a miserable-snivelling-sneezing-wanna-stay-indoors-hate-flowers-more-sneezing-mess. Thanks for your guidance Odidnetne and veganpotter! Indebted forever!

  23. My vegan mother in law gave me a signed copy of this book on the weekend and I've already read it cover to cover. Yes, I read a cook book... er, uncook book cover to cover. I consider myself a beginner raw foodist (four or so months along) and this book is exactly what I needed to ramp up my raw uncooking skills. The recipes are simple and the ingredients not too exotic. It covers everything from smoothies to pizza. I was even delighted to see a recipe for "neatballs" after having them at a raw restaurant in Toronto. Awesome. The book has a great chapter (especially for beginners like me) on getting started with topics such as: food combining, sprouting, is it raw?, what to refrigerate and what not to, and the five tastes and how to combine them. It might be hard to find, but you can order it from her website: http://www.rawrose.com/index.htm Definitely worth checking out.
