  1. thanks so much! funny! but yeah, i can see that.
  2. i hope they realize that the reason that these companies have done well is b/c they cater to people who give a damn. (for lack of better words ) to see how far along this corporate gobbling up has come, check this out. http://certifiedorganic.bc.ca/rcbtoa/services/images/organic-industry-jun-05.jpg http://certifiedorganic.bc.ca/rcbtoa/services/corporate-ownership.html
  3. have you seen Running Times? haven't read it in years, but i did like it better than runners world. http://www.runningtimes.com/
  4. i'm with Will on this. i think bringing these products to the masses outweighs the negative aspects. if the companies are changed enough for the bad, new socially responsible ones will hopefully pop up to replace them.

nice. have you heard of quiddler? i think of it as a card version of scrabble. my girlfriend and i played it daily for a couple of months. you can play it online, too. look for the solitaire demo. http://www.setgame.com/quiddler/index.html

    sudoku

anyone else do sudoku puzzles? i've recently become hooked. they're like a math version of crossword puzzles... except there's no math involved, just logic/reasoning. http://www.websudoku.com/ here's what they look like: http://www.danieldrezner.com/archives/sudoku.gif and the rules: Each Sudoku has a unique solution that can be reached logically without guessing. Enter digits from 1 to 9 into the blank spaces. Every row must contain one of each digit. So must every column, as must every 3x3 square.
  9. okay, i've got the pictures (taken monday). now i just need to email them. i also started a training journal. thanks for the motivation!
  10. okay, the spring shape-up has me motivated and i guess this log will help me stay that way. my main goal is the abdominals - working for a six-pack. other than that, i'm somewhat confined by a repetitive stress injury in both wrists (or is it carpal tunnel syndrome? - depends on who you ask). but, i plan to do push-ups and some weights in addition to the ab work. Apr. 4 15 minutes of stretching, crunches and push-ups 90 minutes of yoga (a pretty relaxing session)

  16. i ran two marathons after being vegan for over 5 years and had no problem (even ran decent times) with no diet adjustment - aside from eating more. just did a quick search and found this page which may be helpful: http://www.andrews.edu/NUFS/vegathletes.htm good luck!

  19. The Cruel Seal Hunt Has Begun Canada's annual seal hunt, the largest commercial slaughter of marine mammals on the planet, began at dawn on Saturday. Even as you read this, fishermen are clubbing baby seals in the North Atlantic, just to earn a few extra bucks by selling seal skins. Last year, 98.5% of the seals killed were two months of age or younger—and veterinary reports indicate that many seals have been skinned while still conscious and able to feel pain. With the recent election of Prime Minister Harper, we have a new chance to convince the Canadian government that the price of continuing the seal hunt is too high to pay. Send a message to Prime Minister Harper and tell him that you are joining the international boycott of Canadian seafood. Let him know that your dollars will not support the slaughter of baby seals, and that you will not purchase Canadian seafood until he ends the seal hunt forever. https://community.hsus.org/campaign/harper_protectseals_2/
  20. for start-up shirt sales, you may want to consider cafepress: http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/

  22. i don't know about recent versions of frontpage, but a few years ago it was a poorly written application that wrote bad code. dreamweaver has been the industry leader for most of recent years. if frontpage is your best option (you can come across one for free or cheap), it should be fine. there are plenty of sites on the web that are designed with it. you can also find a free or cheap web developer. have a look here: http://www.download.com/Web-Page-Creation/2001-10247_4-0.html?tag=dir
  23. I think that men have at least some say considering society holds them equally responsible for the pregnancy. sorry, i totally agree that men should have some say! i just think women deserve a little more say since they're the ones carrying/giving birth. ideally, i think both should be agreed on whether to try to get pregnant or what to do if they do accidentally.
  24. close... they're sister/brother and they love each other (cozying up for naps, cleaning, playing). it's a good thing, b/c my apartment is small. and, thanks for the welcome back!
  25. if you have financial trouble, you can always temp or find some job. well, not always, but i'm sure you'll figure something out if need be. not all hosting services are the same. be sure to compare what they're offering (storage space etc). and, look for reviews from reputable sources, like cnet.com: http://reviews.cnet.com/Ecommerce_hosting/7026-6543_7-0.html?tag=tool1 yes, dreamweaver is quite expensive. you may be able to find a slightly old version on ebay. no, you don't have to pay yahoo. you can pay companies or services to help get your site listed higher on search engines, but you can also submit your site to search engines for free. Yahoo Submit Your Site for Free: http://submit.search.yahoo.com/ Google http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl More: http://www.freewebsubmission.com/ it's also important to write/design your site for web search optimization. peep the following website or do a google search for these words: optimize for search engines http://www.bruceclay.com/web_rank.htm
