  1. Thanks! Now I am working hard to gain an extra 8lbs and finally break 190, so I'll be posting again if/when that happens
  2. Hey guys, I haven't posted in a while as work has been busy, but I've had two photo shoots in the past 3 months and I'm pretty excited on the improvements I've made, so I wanted to share the pics. I worked especially hard on my legs and I made some good gains there. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4024/4316504309_ce2af32c0a.jpg Me in December '09 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2762/4493748655_a697725b75_o.jpg Me March '10
  3. http://www.shafatloss.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/frank-zane.jpg Not too original I know, but I definitely love the look of the golden era. Namely Schwarzenegger and Zane. http://www.ifbb.com/halloffame/1999/ArnoldSchwarzenegger2.jpg
  4. Hey again, just wanted to post that I've updated my shake with an easier recipe, and even an all whole foods version for those that shy away from supplements. It's currently the newest post on my blog , which is the link on my signature. Has anyone ever come up with a similar concept/ recipe?
  5. Yeah, I tried to make it as whole foods based as possible because health is my first priority. I am 5 foot 11 inches and working on moving up from 170lbs.
  6. thanks! Really glad to be here. And I'd say vegan trainers are good, but vegan clients are even better . Nutritional open-mindedness goes a long way towards health.
  7. Thanks! Yeah I had my power lifting phase the last couple weeks and my new numbers shocked me. Guess I'm doing something right.....I really need to get DL into my routine. What day do you all train it? I can't decide if it should go with back, legs, or somewhere else...
  8. I don't really keep track of my ratio, but I'd guess it's around 30% protein, 60% carbs and 10% fat, give or take generously from all categories. I do have a ton more pictures, and one of my clients mentioned I should smile more so I'll be updating them soon. I'd like to see if I can add some inches (or centimeters!) first though. Robert do you have that old recipe around anywhere or is it long gone? I'm curious and some variety would be nice.... hah.
  9. Thanks, I appreciate it. Hopefully some extra calories will make it all the better!
  10. Hey guys, I've been looking around and have found that there are virtually no vegan weight gain shakes out there for sale, which is frustrating. Since I'm trying to gain a few pounds I decided to throw one together, and I even managed to use mostly whole foods so it is way more nutritious than your average highly processed and preservative leaden shake. You can check it out, it is the most recent post (at the moment) on my blog, which is listed on my signature. I decided to make this a new topic to see if anyone else has some good weight gain shake recipes they want to post. Let me know what you think!
  11. Hey, awesome topic! You guys have some strong folks here. My stats are: Bench: 295lbs Squat: Haven't maxed since a knee injury last Fall, but ballpark 415lbs Dead: Never do dead, going to start so I can post Body: 171lbs I know you guys are just doing power lifts, but if anyone wants to post other 1RM's I have: Weighted Pull up: 100lbs Barbell Curl: 135lbs Power Clean: 210lbs Working on more...
  12. Thanks you guys. I love the warm welcome and wasn't expecting it so quickly. I knew you all would be a really supportive and friendly group. Keep it up! Derek
  13. Hey everyone, I've been a big fan of this website for several months and finally joined up. I am a vegan personal trainer out in Richmond VA, and I always try to help my clients reach their goals in part through the healthiest diet on the planet: a whole foods plant-based diet. My girlfriend and I have started a blog to refer friends, family and clients to that lists our workout routines and daily meals. Check it out at http://veganmuscleandfitness.blogspot.com. In addition to helping people improve their health and fitness, I enjoy bodybuilding style training and would like to do my first competition within the next year or so. Look forward to talking with everyone. Derek Tresize
