Nice to see you back Pete...

Hey Jay,
If you exhale strongly through your mouth you can feel it all the way through your system including your anus. Anytime you exert stress your core reacts.
I don't think one week is enough. When you're lifting it is taking your body's resources to build the body. A rest (longer than one -week) will allow your body's resources to work on healing other areas.
What's the first thing the doc is going to tell you to stop doing????
No more nagging friend. Just give it some thought.

Go LEAFS!!! uhhhh.....ya...right......

Hey Jay,
Really sorry to hear that. No need to be ashamed of anything. Keep us posted on how things go.
Jay, you have got to take it easy on your body. There's nothing wrong with taking some time away from the weights as they really stress the system. I think your body is trying to tell you it needs a little break.

Hang in there.......Physical stuff will be good for you given everything else.
Peace..........

I think you're very fortunate to be exactly who you are SB.

So one Saturday night, I was up late reading, I went into her bedroom, turned on the light & said "You're sleeping your life away!" Ohhhhhh, she was soooooooooo pissed at me! But you know what? She stopped waking me up on weekend mornings.
That is hilarious. What a wonderful child you must have been....

That's good to hear Jay. I guess I read a little too much into it and you touched a nerve there . Sometimes I just go off.
I'll just back out now.... Just talk amongst yourselves........

Hey Jay,
Without minimizing what you've gone through, I personally think that you're in the perfect position to "get back up". But perhaps not. I know exactly what you're talking about and I bet there are others here that do as well.
It's a place where you have considered ALL options. It is so dark and heavy that you can't breath. You oscillate between rage and panick and you feel like a wild animal pacing back and forth in a cage.
The negativity in all its forms; rage, hate, helplessness, pain, self/other blame, victimization, etc., etc., eating you from the inside out.
If you think you've hit rock bottom and have come to the conclusion that there's nothing more you can do, then perhpas we can take this off-line.
It took me years and years of fighting, destroying myself and the relationships I had with those around me. You know the old line.....not recognizing yourself in the mirror or worse, ed at what you see in the mirror.
There comes a very quiet time when you realize that you can't do it any longer.
I've learned since then that what I feared was fluff and B.S. And in the end it was meaningless.
It comes down to Awareness to surrender to peace
Who the hell started this post anyway????

SeaSiren, you're right. Trees, woods, those types of areas are very powerful areas and that's why most of us find so much peace there. All plants have therapeutic effects because they are inherently peaceful.
They are natural extensions of earth energy which is above all, a loving and sustaining energy. It's like we're being held in the arms of a divine mother. It is said that earth energy is more positve and therefore flows to you, bringing with it, gentle empowerment. Where water is more negatively charged and is more relaxing, drawing negativity from you. So both are important in balancing ourselves.
Yup, I'm a tree hugger.
Actually Jay is onto something there as morbid as it sounds. There is a very "enlightening" meditative sequence/exercise where you allow your mind to first focus on your grave site, then to your coffin and then to your body. You also allow your mind to visualize the decomposition of your physical body, and so on. Anyway, it is a useful tool for putting things into perspective as well as expanding one's awareness. But that's another bedtime story for some other time ..........

Humbling you say? Ya, I know about that
I took VE's advice and went to a chiropractor about my shoulder. Best thing I ever did. He said it's worse than it should have been and if I had come when I first injured it we wouldn'thave to work through the amount of scar tissue and all the other crap that comes with the rest of your body overcompensating for the weakened shoulder.
Anyway, I'm noticing alot of people here noting shoulder and back injuries but lifting through it like I did.
It's worth a visit. I found out alot about my entire body that I wasn't even aware of. And with no neck or back twisting and crunching which I'm not interested in.
And if SeaSiren happens upon this post....It doesn't really hurt that much.

Oh just thought of one more thing...like I'm an expert or something
I really notice a difference depending on the type of footwear I have. I squat in bare feet or shoes that allow me to feel I'm lifting right through my heels.
Anyway, be careful.

Ya, that's frustrating. The Pens were once a highly skilled exciting team. hopefully they can stay in the city while they try to build around Crosby.
