    First Muay Thai Class

    Sorry threeloaves. I was over prepared for my first Muay Thai class because I had previous martial arts experience. I have a huge gym bag and had more stuff in there than I listed. I forgot to mention the rib protector. I had trained in another style of kickboxing before MT and I got TKOed by a left hook to my right temple. It was cool getting whacked hard for the first time in my life.

     

    When you start sparring, be prepared to get your ass kicked if you're a newbie. Another newbie in my MT class, who had been training for 3-4 weeks, was sparring with one of our instructors. My instructor faked a low roundhouse kick, newbie dropped his hands, instructor kicked high instead, and kicked newbie in the head. Newbie got KTFO!

    For those who think the Iraq war is costing to much money.

    I didn't call you a racist. I said your comment that General Powell will vote for Senator Obama because he's black is borderline racist. What truth? The delusion you want to believe. Back up your truths.
    I never "heard" him say that. I think you are the only one here talking about skin color acctually.
    xjohanx didn't hear Gen. Powell say that either.
    Quote for me all these articulations. All he really says if how great a guy he thinks he is.

    I see it as just another person of color, voting merely for skin color.

    Colin Powell is saying it's time we had a black president, and so I'm voting for Obama.

    Right or wrong if you can't see that, it time to take your rose colored glasses off.

    I think your post is ignorant borderline racist bullshit. It's an insult to General Powell and his intelligence. General Powell clearly articulated the reasons why he is voting for Senator Obama.

    veginator, I think Sen. Obama's stradegy, as many political pundits have pointed out, is to not come off as the angry black man because it might/would turn off many white voters. In general, many white people feel threatened by angry black people who unapologetically confront American society about its racism.

     

    Acting white, as you say, is the only way many African-Americans have acheived the success they have in their careers in politics and the corporate world.

    Robert, I agree with many of your points, however there have been many major elections cited in the article and the link I and VV posted where race has been an issue. I don't trust many registered voters who've been polled as far as their honesty on the issue of race. I think if Sen. Obama doesn't have a double digit lead in the polls right before the election Sen. McCain will win.
