  1. I am going to start working out harder. It is possible, all I have to do is get more nutrition and rest. I have some plans to stock up large on some vegan protein powders and supplements to add to my whole food diet. Vegan supplements I intend on getting: 5 Pound Bucket of Hemp Protein Powder I am going to order 5 pounds of organic hemp protein powder. It costs only 50$ for 5 pounds, at that is amazing. It is amazing when considering the fact that its organic, and other retailers want 40$ for 1 pound. 3 LBS Wheat Protein Powder. I am going to get Wheat Protein powder. They are only asking for 20$ for 3 pounds of it. I had a couple of reviews and it to me is definately worth the dollar. 2 Pounds of Pea Protein Powder I am going to get a 2 pound container of pea protein isolate. I have researched some reviews and this stuff is a must-have. I can get 2 pounds for only 20 dollars, so it is something I can add to my diet to increase variety. Vegan Multivitamin and Mineral I am going to be working out 4-5 times per week, so a vegan multivitamin and mineral is a must have. This will improve my immune system recovery and mucle repair tenfold. Vegan Glucosamine I am going to order some vegan glucosamine. Glucosamine will be very important in supporting my joint health after all of the stress during intense workouts. And there we have it, all of the vegan supplements I intend on getting to support my muscle growth during 4 to 5 days a week for working out. By adding an abundance of vegan protein supplements, vitamin and mineral supplements, and joint support supplements to my healthy diet, I am sure to recieve great benefits from going to the gym 4-5 times per week. These products added to my healthy diet, I am sure to prevent over-training, and I will only grow muscle very quickly and easily. I believe I will grow muscle very quickly and easily, because whatever the mind can believe, it can achieve. --- I am planning on opening my own thread in the forums pretty soon, including my diet and training regimen. I have a my workouts recorded since the beginning of October. I have been noticing gains especially in my calfs since then. Especially after recieving these vegan supplements, I will be able to workout even 5 days per week without worrying about overtraining. By then I am definately planning on developing my own thread, recording my own weight, my diet, and progress pictures. -- This thread, in my belief, will greatly prepare me for developing the content of my site. I haven't recently spent much time on my website because of food preparation, school-work, having awesome workouts at the gym, and getting my rest. I will spend some time tomorrow studying CSS and HTML. -- I will feel accomplished if others will find this thread as helpful advice. That is part of the reason as to why I made it. It is 11:00 PM here, and I am going to have some almonds and soy milk before I go to bed. Good night everyone!
  2. I know, thats what I meant, I guess I just didn't say it right, lol. Lol, well my blender started smoking before the chickpeas were completely pureed. So probably the lemon juice is conentrated in one area of the chickpeas. The chickpeas are blended alright though. But I do have to get a new food processor because I am going to be trying some spicy hummus recipes like lobsteriffic and johan pointed out. But if the lemon juice is completely mixed through, well I guess I just love the taste of lemon!, lol
  3. I gotta try that! I just made my hummus, and it tastes pretty good. Only thing is that my blender started smoking, and made the kitchen smell like it was on fire. I'm thinking of buying a nice new food processor at canadian tire or wal mart. The hummus had an alright taste, I think it needed a little more flavouring. I could taste the garlic, should of added a little more lemon juice. I really am down for trying jalapeno hummus, I do really like spicy things. I could image olives being in hummus, that would taste awesome. I have some green peppers in my fridge, could those be used? Thanks lobersteriffic! I have to get roasted peppers, cumin a paprika definately. Especially some kale or other greens. I plan on having hummus almost every day because it's so versatile. Yes I do soak them lol. I think they have soaked for about 10-12 hours. I never knew baking soda makes the beans more nutrient rich by that affect!, I gotta get some then. I always drain all of the water after soaking and I rinse the beans thoroughly with some cold water. Man your not hijacking the thread, your just giving some awesome advice! It was a great tip that adding baking soda eliminates antinutrients. Now you made my diet that much healthier! Thanks! lol So yes, Im gonna buy some of those spices and greens to add to my next batch of hummus. Plus those spices or so common in other vegan recipies that I've come across. I wanna use the hummus for dip for veggies, pita bread, and probably wheat thins (unless their too processed). I really wanna try chickpea burgers, they look so good! Plus they are way healthier than veggie burgers because the chickpea burgers dont have any added preservatives and chemicals. Thanks alot guys! Wish me luck on my next batch of hummus!
  4. A good 35-45 oz of cooked chickpeas (I cook them dry cuz canned is bad for the environment ) About 5-6 tablespoons of lemon juice 3 Tablespoons of Tahini (or more if I think it needs more) 3 Crushed Garlic Cloves 1 tsp salt 2 tbsp olive oil I am going to prepare it tomorrow all in my blender, and I cant wait to try it. I plan on eating a ton of this stuff for lots of calories! lol. I wanna take it to school in tubbaware so I can dip my raw veggies in it. I find hummus a great option for me. I can easily enjoy the delicious hummus in class during my 10 minute break with some veggies, pita bread, or wheat thins. Hmm, so does anyone have any recommended recipes that I should try?

  6. I have been doing some research on building websites, and I have come to understand that I must learn CSS and HTML coding!!! I am excited because I love learning, I am open minded! Lol. So I have read a few articles, and they all say that if you thoroughly learn css and html, you will reap benefits greatly in the long run. One reason is because it will allow you great flexibility in designing the sight the way YOU want it, and not the way the site builder BUILDS it. So therefore I am planning on putting alot of time to studying both html and css. I have picked up a book on html and css at my library, and another book on online marketing too, but one is published in 2004 and the other in 2001. The thing is, the internet is expanding wayy to rapidly to read books this old. So tomorrow I am going to take them back. I don't really need any books, I can just read tons of articles, and chat on some kind of web development forum that has internet genius willing to offer free support and advise. I probably won't add much to my site until then, but I will develop some awesome articles and excel worksheets personally made by me, Shawn. So far I made a high-protein meal sample for vegan athletes and bodybuilders on excel. But that is only a tiny spec of what I am planning on developing! I am so psyched for this website. Have a great day Y'all!
  7. Hmm, after reading what all of you's said, I think it's better for me to keep this job until I can find another one. Like when I work there I do tell people why I am a vegan. There is this one worker that asks me many questions on what I eat, why Im a vegan etc, and I think I am supporting her make the transition, I feel that she is willing also. If I plan on working there longer I will tell them that they should sell healthier stuff, but no promises there. Thanks alot for your support guys! Have a great day!
  8. Imagine more intelligent beings, called "Hecto-oids" putting us into factory farms for food, when in reality the can thrive off of plants just like us?
  9. There is this canteen that is in my college. The canteen in this college sells so much meaty animalistic cr*p I cant believe it. I am starting to get discouraged about working at this place. I just can't stand all of the meat they sell, including tons of hamburgers, chicken wraps, tuna sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, and chocolate milk, holly cr*p. I feel that I can't work there anymore, because in a way, I am supporting what they sell. Just today I told a few co-workers, who know I am a vegan, and I said I'm thinking of quitting, because veganism is my lifestyle, and I don't think I can work in a place like this. They both told me to speak to the manager, and I will. Another reason I want to quit because, you know, thinking of all the animals that went through pain, for all the revenues they make by selling fat arterie clogging hamburgers, chicken disease wraps, egg samonella salad sandiwiches, Chocolate Puss-Milk , and I'm helping the dam canteen make more profits by working, so they can buy more disease animal foods, cause more animals to go through pain, causing more people to develop disease, I say thats enough!, I AM QUITTING, I am a vegan and I am going to stand up for my beliefs!. Yes, so, I am not going to work there anymore. I think I will survive, until I get a job in an environment with like-minded people. I got enough money to be able to not work for a month or two, until I find a job with like-minded people, as I said. . I will have to cut my expenses, eat less food probably , but I will get to spend more time developing my new site, study for school, etc. Hmm, I guess that's it. I really wanted to tell this out to you guys because of our like-mindedness, to people who will understand, and can support me. I know I am doing the right thing. Well, Hope you's all have a great day!, I'm gonna go to bed soon, it's 11:43 PM. L8er All!
  10. Ive added myself! My name is Shawn, haha!
  11. No problem Robert! Your book is 300 pages? Thats awesome!, I really want to get it now, it must contain of tons of rich and valuable advice. I definately look forward to purchasing it. I think it would be an awesome idea for me to devote a whole page on your book in my site later on. I'm want to learn lots about 'CSS' and 'html' coding so I can make my site look way better. That way I can do some wicked affiliating!. Have a great day Rob! Best Wishes on your outstanding book!
  12. Nice setup chewy! I have been reading a little through your forum and I noticed you have had alot of time being swore. Do you take creatine or glutamine? These both are made in the lab so they are vegan, (most of them I believe). Every since I have been taking them I recover alot quicker from workouts, and my pain has also greatly dimished. Another reasons these supplements would help is because you do have long workdays, and this limits your amount of rest. So by taking extra glutamine (a vital amino acid in muscle recovery), your recovery will be helped greatly. Like working 9 hours and lifting stuff at work, on your legs non stop, is straining and prevents recovery. So on a day where you work, right after a day where you workout, you could take 15 grams of glutamine that day, 5 grams with breakfast, 5 grams with lunch, and 5 grams before bed. I am going to tell the truth, I am not trying to promote glutamine or creatine. I am in reality just trying to give you advice on what to take to speed recovery when you need it the most. I have been taking glutamine from Optimum Nutrition, and micronized creatine from Higher Power, and my strength has improved greatly, in just 22 days of taking it. I plan on taking the stuff for the rest of my life, and I can image what I will look like in 10 years after taking it. Good luck and I hope you all the best on your progress bud!
  13. Thats awesome! I really want to get this book. Approximately how many pages is it? I bet this is the best book on vegan bodybuilding out there. I can't wait to get it. Ill be able to learn lots, and possibly I can reference some information from the book to my site Lot's off citations like (Cheeke, 2009) Lol. I wish you the best on getting your book out there! P.S maybe you can let me affiliate your book for a little commission, Have a good day!
  14. I use micronized creatine too. I've never gotten any cramps or bloating from it. Yes, the stuff is that bomb! I recommend it to anyone who seeks the best type of creatine out there. - Micronized!. I am going to possible feature an article on my vegan website for micronized creatine. Would be pretty cool.
  15. DUDE you look amazing! I want to include you in my website sometime man! I just started developing it yesterday, I want to include a page for vegan bodybuilders. Please tell me you give me permission to do so!! Later! PS. What you believe is what you can achieve. Keep up the great work.
  16. Man looking awesome! Your looking super ripped. Keep up the good work!
  17. Today I have did a little further development within my site. I have incorporated a slightly more appealing template. I made a few of my web pages slightly more appealing. Finally, I spent some quality time getting used to the controls and functions of the control panel (cPanel). I do plan on purchasing a good 40-70$ template eventually. A template that has a green - earth friendly - feel, and still has a feel that it's an information site. It would be great to get a template with drop-down menus, so I could add subcategories into main categories. For example: One main menu item I could include 'Vegan BodyBuilding Diets', and sub categories could include items such as 'High Protein Diet', 'Moderate Protein Diet', 'Soy Free Diet', and 'Raw Vegan Diet'. These subcategories can still hold the fact that they are vegan bodybuilding diets, meaning that the raw vegan diet would consist of foods for a bodybuilder to build muscle. So, if anybody has any comments on my site, feel free to comment in this thread, or in the blog within my site, I will be more than happy if you did so. (I want to make my site a great site.) L8er all!
  18. Lol, I read this post earlier today and I entered almost all these same keywords. They have been entered in the "Meta Tags Keywords" in "Extras" within the control panel. I also added a breif description. Later down the road I'll plan on coming up with some more keywords and a better meta description. Haha what a coincidence. In my control panel for the site hosting service it says that meta tags in this modern era of internet are now relatively useless. But yes I'm sure they do help, of course. But by doing something like Pay Per Clicks you can in the top 10 in the search engine, but then again you have to pay. Im' a yahooist and not a googler so it's probably going to work for me. Not to mention it's been a few years since I mested with HTML Just trying to help with my limited abilities. I havent really tried HTML before, eventually I might give it a try though.
  19. I love having bananas before bed too. They really help eliminate the before-bed hunger. I have better, more vivid dreams if I have bananas before bed too hah. Bananas also seem to help me remember my dreams better when I wake up. I dont think there is anything with eating before bed. Some people say having your insulin high while you sleep lowers your growth hormone levels, but I doubt its true. From experience, ever since I ate before bed, like carbs and all, until I felt satisifed, I have gained strength. I think you actually need those extra calories before bed, because lots of the time your body is still in calorie burning mode even when your sleeping. Gotta love my organic spelt flakes before bed, with a tinge of brown sugar, organic vanilla soymilk, and a tasty banana! And if Im still hungry, a nice handful of almonds or cashews.
  20. Creatine is amazing. I have been taking micronized creatine by Higher Power for 20 days so far, and I definately notice overall strength gain. If you are going to get creatine I would recommend the micronized version. Visit http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/microcrea.htm, it is a page explaining all of the reasons why micronized is the best. Cheers,
  21. Lol! Yes I will try to bring up some vegan athletes! Especially women vegan bodybuilders. I will of course do this with their permission But I'm really sure they won't mind, as I will be promoting them. My site is now fully processed and now I can edit it! Already 17 hits and I havent even added anything! Im so proud hehe. Thanks alot man. Best wishes- shawn
  22. Hey Logan!, The best way to enjoy life is to do what you love. GreenGeeks has awesome customer support. Their 'Live Help' chat function is amazing, 99% of the time you have an expert to speak to within 2 minutes. As for hosting, I haven't got the chance to develop my site yet. My site is still in processing, and I should be able to develop it by tomorrow. That sounds awesome that you plan on opening your own website! This website hosting service is something I would recommend so far. I have researched the site feedback and reviews, and they all seem great. The site got positive feedback in all aspects too. Plus, this site is the most environmentally friendly webhosting this service there is, they return 3 times the amount of energy they use back into the power grid by wind power. Its amazing! Anyway, I wish you all the best in opening a collective/personal development website! “Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion.” Hebbel Passion is a must to achieve anything great in life. You must emphasize positive feeling and love for what you do. I have a deep passion to develop, design, network, and SHARE my website with the world. I really want to make an online vegan supplement store for bodybuilding enthusiasts too! I plan on doing this after developing a great customer base. My plan is to develop this by creating this website. Good luck robert!, p.s It's a great possibility that we can share links (In the near future) Here is a quote that will help steer me towards my achievement: You've got to be before you can do, and do before you can have. Zig Ziglar You have to be (inner passion and desire) before you can do, and do (perseverance, goal setting) before you can have (achievement, success). Great quote, I love it. I find reading over quotes, and affirmations, are a great way to develop your inner potential to achieve anything that you desire. Haha pretty cool forum! Good way to keep the community together. By having forums its a great way to support eachothers beliefs and values regarding veganism, it supports the world movement of veganism. Yes I can't wait till I can start developing and designing it. Its going to be a great achievement. I am going to put my word out there loudly! Its about time that animals started getting streated fairly. Im tired of all of the unneccessary pain that they go through, and I am going to step up, share my word through developing a great wbsite, and greatly support the movement of veganism. Good luck on your forum Molly! And I give great thanks and gratitudes for your support! I think adding videos and blogposts to my site would be an awesome way to expand! I could include videos of vegan athletes, like you mentioned, and also videos on nutritional advice. It is a goal for me to add some great scientific evidence and info on why veganism is the best way. I could also include scientific info on certain nutritional aspects of a vegan diet, including whole foods and vegan supplements, and also information on training methologies to add on to the site. I give astounding thanks to you for your great support, Johan! Have an awesome day!
  23. The teacher states that need a complete protein combination for every meal. I have read somewhere that we don't need all essential amino acids with every meal; that the human body has the ability to function optimally without complete proteins for every meal. The teacher is very knowledgeable about vegetarianism/veganism though.
  24. I agree that we don't essentially have to eat soy products, beans, and the like for protein.. but they very helpful to a vegan bodybuilder, due to the fact they are high in amino acids compared to other plant based foods. And yes, all of the other foods, excluding animal products, are optimal to consume because they contain certain amino acids that are necessary for optimal health, that the legume family doesn't have. Like take hemp for an example, it an excellent whole food to add to a diet to add a whole variety of different amino acids, that the legume family lacks. Yes, I believe in the fact which RAINRA stated is that should eat a wide variety of foods to get all of the essential amino acids.
  25. Pics look awesome! Were there alot of people there? I saw alot of supplements hehe, wish I could get me some of that. L8er~
