  1. Well thats not true! What about amino profiles and bv scores! Ok, that's true, but it doesn't matter if that perfect amino profile comes from a plant or an animal source.
  2. You guys are ridiculous. I can't eat past 2500 a day without getting fat. Where do these metabolisms come from?? Exactly. I'm kind of jealous. Well, maybe 4000 would be a bit too high for my taste but I wouldn't mind eating 3000.
  3. Calories add up fast. I'm aiming for 30% protein cals as well and without shakes my calories get always too high.
  4. Look at the signature above you to answer your question.
  5. I used to think that is what nutritionists are for. Then I noticed that a lot (almost all?) of them seem to play the same old record they learned in school over and over again and that's it. Disappointing.
  6. Yep, it's cool. You get to eat decent meals and don't have to worry about eating so often.
  7. It's not that hard. You'll get used to it within a few days.
  8. I don't know if it's really mental. As soon as you start moving around, circulation begins to move again. I know about those cold hands and feet while typing at the desk. I usually don't sit around long enough to become cold, lol.
  9. Not a raw vegan here but I know what you mean. I do IF and have cold hands (even while not feeling cold in general) during mornings until I start to eat at noon. And yes, exercise helps but as you already said we can't do that anytime we like. Do you notice a similar pattern? As soon as you get some sufficient calories into your body, your hands get warm again?
  10. A lot of legumes and grain contain phylates. That's not soy specific. A lot of other foods contain one or more of the phytoestrogens. That's not soy specific as well.
  11. This. Why do people care so much about the phytoestrogens in soy but give a damn about the estrogens in milk and other animal products? Doesn't make sense to me.
  12. Gentle Care (vitamins and minerals) Protein Shakes (soy, hemp, pea, rice)
  13. I think these calorie counters can be way off. If I would eat as much as these counters suggest I would gain weight without end! In the end it comes down to trial and error.
  14. I don't think that faux meats are really "bad" whether they're made of soy or wheat or lupines or a mix of them all. I ate quite a lot of them (mostly for convenience) when I made the transition. However, I noticed that I grew tired of them very quick and while I almost always have a faux schnitzel or burger in my fridge (sometimes I crave a burger after all and during the week I have very little time to cook if any) I rarely consume them anymore.
  15. Yep, plus people who have lost lots of weight usually also have lost lots of muscle mass. Plus there are so many people out there who have lost a ton of weight, are still overweight and don't seem to be able to get any lower.
  16. Soy protein seems to mess with my birth control (I take a gestagen pill) and cycle. I took soy protein for a few days and I could notice the effect (bleeding since a few days and I also felt bloated for some days). I guess I'm back to the Powerstar protein for now. It's a soy protein without the phytoestrogens (or so they claim). Rice and hemp, I'm coming I guess... I've read about the suggestion that phytoestrogens lower the estrogens in the body but it seems to be different with different women obviously. My experiences are not the best. I can drink soy milk and have tofu from time to time or tempeh without problems but the isolates seem to be too high in phytoestrogens for my body.
  17. I think this is a tough question and I wouldn't dare to give you a "yes" or "no" and I hope nobody else will since this is nothing one should give advice on an internet board. I don't know how sensitive a PET CT is regarding possible micro metastases. That is something you'd have to ask an oncologist or someone who's specialised in nuclear medicine.
  18. You should see a doctor. Is your wrist swollen and does it hurt when you press it slightly? Is extension causing pain and do you feel like you don't have as much strentgh in your thumb as usually?
