  1. I've been big and strong on nearly every diet known to man. Even Doug Graham's 80/10/10 raw vegan diet. The key is, calories, calories, calories. But doing it healthfully is important too. You don't want too many oils, especially olive oil. Olive oil slows digestion and makes food travel through your digestive system more slowly. Not good when you're eating a lot of fruit or grains. This is instant fermentation and you'll quickly be a host for molds, parasites, and candida. One of the best ways to bulk up as a vegan I've found, is trail mix. Get an organic trail mix, or make your own. Get the mycotoxin free raw peanuts from rawfood.com, get raw cashews, goji berries, raisins, and so on. You can down 1,000 without blinking an eye, and they're healthful calories. Calories are king.
  2. There are healthy raw food vegans, and unhealthy ones. Some people eat nothing but dates, nuts, seeds and dried figs. That's going to have disastrous results. The healthy ones are the ones eating or juicing several lbs of greens a day.
  3. There hasn't been a picture of Stephen Arlin (I REFUSE to call him Thor Bazler) posted in recent years, that show all of his fat body. He hides behind his kids in all of the pics of him I've seen. It certainly doesn't seem like he eats even 5% of his food raw these days. He looks like his diet consists of pizza, wings, burgers, beer, and pasta. He's completely bald and morbidly obese -- it's IMPOSSIBLE to gain that much weight on a raw food diet, unless your diet is 90% nuts and 10% avocados. His Raw Power protein blend is gritty and too high in fat to be a productive protein powder. I just don't see the benefit of having a seed based fat in a protein blend. Seeds are very slow to digest, and I feel like his protein blend sits in my gut, and digests just like nuts/seeds do. Not good. Especially if you want to engage in heavy physical activity. So yeah, in closing, Arlin is a complete disgrace to the raw food community. He's a complete fraud and a jokester.
