  1. I assume it prevents muscle catabolism/preserves muscle mass - just how it's marketed. ..guess I'll look into it a bit further. Wikipedia seems agree with you guys.
  2. elaborate? Are you saying glutamine supplements don't work.. or that someone can get enough glutamine through their diet?
  3. good idea chris.. It turns out that all GNC Glutamine products aren't even vegetarian, let alone vegan.

  6. I took creatine last summer, and I did notice a pretty big difference. and almost everyone I ran into told me how much bigger I looked. But when I stopped taking it, I deflated, and went back to normal. ..so its good for temporary results.

  8. seitan is great. It's so simple to make.. and it's high in protein I usually make faux chicken, then slice it into chicken-strips and throw it on a salad .. you have to make sure you use 'VITAL wheat gluten' when you make it, otherwise it won't turn out there's a bunch of seitan recipes found in the lovely Sarah Kramer's cookbook http://www.nexternal.com/vegane/images/LaDolceVeganFinalLg.jpg

  11. I'm John from Toronto, Ontario, Canada ..26 years old I've been a vegetarian for the past 10 years, and recently decided to kick it up a notch and become vegan (about 6 months ago). That switch has been amazing for me! I lost about 15 pounds without even trying, shortly after becoming vegan. It took some getting used to... as far as knowing which foods were vegan.. like I had no idea regular margarine had whey in it. But now I've developed a bit of an intuition for which foods contain dairy. I'm 6'4" at 195 pounds with a medium build. I hit the gym at least 4 days a week... don't really have any real fitness goals at the moment.. just being active and persistent. Aside from the gym, I plan on doing a lot of biking and swimming this summer.. and take some hot yoga/meditation classes. I decided to sign up to this site because I like supporting and being apart of anything vegan/vegetarian, and to talk with other vegans (i.e. you guys) .. and maybe kill some time cheers!
