BlueRose's diet/exercise diary of Les Mills Combat!
BlueRose replied to BlueRose's topic in Online Training Journals & Blogs
Quick log: still on the Brazil Butt Lift program, did a TON of exercise in the pool while in FL for four days plus Hip Hop Abs at night. Back to BBL now that I'm at home and will be adding running into my routine as well. Am in training for INSANITY! -

Kewl. I look forward to seeing more press and resources out there. I'm still trying to figure out how to veganize so much of the "help" that's out there which tells people to eat egg whites and skinless chicken. -
To those who disparage allopathic (mainstream) medicine...

I dealt with that crap from one of the doctors and if she's the only one available I'll refuse to go to her now. Kept trying to tell her I don't eat dairy but kept pushing me to eat Activa. Aieee... -

Don't forget: Boston Vegan Association Boston Vegetarian Society You combined the two names on the list and wondering which one you contacted. I'm a member of both. Also: Muscle and Fitness Hers Please don't forget us women! They had all of ONE vegan recipe in their latest mag and would like to see us represented more!! -
please give it to me straight!

Good point on loose skin. I had a LOT of it on my midsection and still have stretch marks in various places. Hoping exercise will relieve me of a lot of it! -
I contended with a new job, two sinus infections, a basement flood from hell, overtime at work, and a ton of personal shit...and all in three months. It practically shoved me in the direction of exercise, which kept my stress levels low and made me feel MUCH better than I ordinarily would have. I became a member and coach over at Team Beachbody, and they have a million programs to monitor food intake, your workouts, message boards, discounts for members, you name it. There's a small but growing vegan contingent there. Shakeology is not vegan (it's a lot like Vega) but there are rumors they will have a vegan version at some point. My recommendation is this: eat clean and workout. By "clean" I mean balanced, healthy, but tasty. Do workouts you enjoy but challenge you. And don't put all of your exercise eggs in one basket.

Which type of protein powder do you use?
BlueRose replied to Veganeu's topic in Health & Nutrition Programs
Milk and dairy products are for calves, and I'm human. +1 -
I personally love love love Vega! I get the large tubs whenever they're on sale. Only other product I've seen that's similar is Shakeology but it contains whey protein. There are rumors they're working on a vegan version and if so, it'd wind up being cheaper for me versus Vega due to my coach discount. I just picked up the sports nutrition when it went on sale at WF and look forward to trying it in a fruit smoothie. But two scoops Vega whole meal optimizer, one banana, and one cup of light chocolate soymilk is my breakfast staple. I honestly don't know what I'd do without it and every time I'm forced to go without in a few days I'm starving and my body is ready to kill me.

WOO! on going vegan! Last time I did a huge weight loss I was skinny but not much definition. Changing that this time around myself, and this time am vegan versus omni. I think you'll do just fine. A combo of cardio and resistance training should allow you to tone nicely. I have both resistance bands and dumbbells and work out to various Beachbody programs. My fav right now is Brazil Butt Lift.

Full 39.3 miles DONE! I have pics too, yay! I'll have to rename my log, but the fitness continues! -
My saving grace is that I have a small frame/bone structure. I have a min weight that I refuse to go below because I believe in having curves, even if skinny. And thanks!! Really, really, really recommend Brazil Butt Lift as a great exercise program for people who have hourglass figures and hard to lose fat around thighs/hips/butt.

Also love making tabouli and using quinoa instead of bulgur wheat

Finished Slim in 6 and will be posting before and after pictures later. Currently doing a month of Brazil Butt Lift's pear program combined with Hip Hop Abs. After that I'm going to do...INSANITY. That's because a) I'm insane and b) I rather like Shaun T as a trainer so how bad could it be? Yeah, famous last words I know, right? Been also doing practice walks. Weekend before last did 30 miles in total. This weekend's the big Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and I plan to do the full 39.3 miles. I'm awful about tracking here cause I do it over at veganfitness.net too. I'll try to get better about that so people here can see what I'm up to! -
Read it this past weekend and tweeted about it. VERY good read!! Recommending it to everyone. I'm TeaAddictedGeek on Twitter, btw. Same handle on TeamBeachbody.
