  1. Love their solid smoked cheddar and their garlic and herb cream cheese! I get it from veganessentials.com. about what veganessentials belong? I'm sorry, what are you asking me?
  2. Doing decently but I'm very new and still learning. I don't have much of a sweet tooth and need my greens, also have to figure out best way to prepare certain foods in advance. Last night I desperately wanted some form of starchy vegan protein, no nuts and nothing sweet. Closest I could come were my black beans, no idea if they were technically raw or not. I just picked up 80-10-10, arrived in the mail yesterday. And Go Fruit Yourself is wonderful, already read it twice.
  3. Journal for yesterday: 9 bananas 8 clementines 1 mini apple pie Larabar Some romaine lettuce wraps for dinner with a bit of salsa, oil free hummus, and black beans I have to be up at ridiculous o'clock, got home later than expected...straight to bed I went. I'd rather get the 7 hours of sleep than 5-6 and be a zombie....
  4. so! My journal for today. Food: 4 bananas, water, and vanilla Vega sports performance protein with ice in a blender Another 8 bananas About 8 tangerines 5 celery sticks with a bit of natural PB 5 almonds I tried to make a smoothie for dinner using kale and failed miserably. The experiment is frozen into portions to be put into other smoothies with way more fruit. Just used too much kale and juiced too much chard. Gah. Ate a leftover Gardein chic'n scallopini I found in the fridge out of total frustration. On a plus side, I found out how to prepare a mango. Tomorrow is another day. Workouts: Am going to take a nice, hot shower and then do some pushups and stretching before bedtime.
  5. I'm experimenting with it too, just ordered the book and reading Go Fruit Yourself. Also on the 30BananasADay.com site.
  6. Okay! The food and exercise log for today. I am currently experimenting with a HCRV diet. It should be interesting. Yes. I know I do well on a low fat diet. I also know that I have had issues in the past with restricting my calories too much. I also know that I am still relearning how to eat, and need to get the biggest nutritional bang for my buck with everything I put into my mouth. I'm working on it. Food: 9 bananas 1 chocolate brownie Pure Bar 1 smoothie consisting of 1 scoop chocolate Vega Whole Meal Optimizer, 1 scoop raw cacao, water, ice, and 3 bananas 1 chocolate saviseed VegaSport protein bar I am painfully aware of the fact that I consumed 420 of my calories today in the form of meal bars. I think it's because it's a small, condensed, and quick way to get a ton of protein and carbs in one shot. I also have this thing with chocolate. Despite this, I still managed to get within the 80-10-10 carb-protein-far ratio according to my cronometer.com log. I also know that the meal bars, the Vega, and the cacao are so very much not within the 80-10-10 parameters. But the Vega gave me more iron and B12, two supplements I frankly care about. So in short, my first day to attempt banana island had me taking a few side trips to the chocolate peninsula. At least it was healthy chocolate? I am also proud to say I'm apparently eating 1800+ calories a day. Once upon a time, I was one of those less than 1K a day types. My goal is to get me to those 3K calories people are talking about while getting my body leaner and more defined, but I know that won't happen overnight. Workouts: TurboFire Fire 30 TurboFire Stretch 10
  7. Dunno if you can make zucchini noodles out of it! I actually got another product that does that, was my holiday gift from my parents.
  8. Where did you get it? What's it called? Chef's Envy. It's not out in stores yet. There was a demonstration of it in Sears on New Year's Eve, and even got free kitchen shears with it. Found a url for it: https://www.buychefsenvy.com/Default.aspx I got it for $29 then had the free gift, whee!
  9. Food log: 4-5 bananas and 5 tangerines for breakfast Mango and orange smoothie for lunch Dinner: 3 slices of pizza from Peace of Pie and two small breadsticks with marinara. Snack: mango sorbet Workouts: 20 min TurboFire HIIT 20 pushups 3 sets of 4 reps, 10lb delt workout. Two reps straight out to the sides plus another two as "w"s as one set. I need to work on those delts and I haven't been able to get better than the 8 lb weights. They're my weakest muscle. Time to get them better! Also spent four hours helping my friend to clean her place so I was rewarded with the vegan pizza. It was tasty.
  10. Okay! Log so far: Breakfast: 1 scoop chocolate flavored Vega protein, 1 scoop chocolate Vega Whole Meal Optimizer, 1/2 cup diced frozen pineapple, one banana, one cup light chocolate soy milk Lunch: buffet at Grasshopper for the New Year Dinner: Went to Red Lentil with a bunch of friends, had the Gobi Manchurian and a Bunny Spice smoothie: http://theredlentil.com/menus/dinner-menu Workouts: 30 pushups this morning (yes, toes! yayayayayayay) I need to revamp my routine. I backed off the TurboFire uber cardio to do P90X, now I'm feeling like I need more cardio. I'm going to be trying ChaLEAN Extreme and tacking on additional workouts when I feel like it. Trying to find the ideal workout schedule for me can be challenging and is constantly changing.
  11. I really like the idea of a diet where I have to take in more calories. Unless I'm beyond active for at least 4-6 months my metabolism isn't the best. I'm finding that with a seriously clean diet, nothing but veggies and fruit with some healthy sources of veggie protein I can get around that a bit...
  12. Made these for a NYE party: Raw fudge brownies Bottom layer: - 1 cup pitted dates - 1 cup almonds (you can use walnuts too) - 1/2 cup of raw cacao Fudge layer: - 4 TB freshly ground almond butter - 1 TB agave nectar - 1 ripe banana (two if you want more of a banana taste, YMMV) - 1/2-3/4 cup raw cacao Mix the ingredients in the bottom layer in a food processor, spread into a brownie pan evenly, then mix the fudge ingredients together and spread on top. Place into freezer. One of the things I like to add to the raw cacao is chocolate protein powder from either Sunwarrior or Vega, but you gotta add some water if you do that, I've found.
  13. That's me! I especially do that with clementines, almost out of them in fact.
  14. Strange. the 80/10/10 diet is about performance. I can train 2 times a day on it and it's the only way to recover from a 2 hours judo training in a couple of hours (to train a second time). May be the fruit you ate was not sweet enough? Or you underate? It's easy to undereat on this diet because it takes a great amount of fruit to match the energy equivalence of dry food. I've heard about people eating like 20 bananas and whatnot in a meal, insane.
  15. You can use the resistance band versus a pull up bar if you're clever and follow the instructions they give you. Ditto with the weight lifting. I don't have the capacity for a chinup bar in my basement so I do the resistance bands and simulate it muscle-wise, so to speak. Yes, the workouts definitely take a bit of time. I think that's really the only downside to the program I've found. I've also done the P90X+ version, which is awesome. I bought P90X2 and have yet to give it a shot, training for it right now, really.
  16. So I bought this awesome slicing tool for veggies and fruits, it'll be worth its weight in gold. Also wearing my Eat More Kale shirt.
  17. Food log today so far: Breakfast: 1 scoop chocolate Vega Whole Meal Optimizer, 1 scoop chocolate Vega protein, 1 cup light chocolate soy milk, 1 banana, 3/4 cup mixed frozen berries in a blender. Tasty! Lunch: three oranges. I plan to eat something more substantial once I have a moment to breathe. Freakin' New Year's Eve. I don't even. I AM NOT PREPARED. Later: 2 more oranges and some leftover veggie lentil barley soup. Snack: more of those oatmeal cookies. Aside from the sugar and flour, they're not bad. Mostly just oatmeal, raisin, spices...okay, I'm overjustifying, but those were the last of the cookies. I wanted them out of my house before Jan. Dinner: 1 scoop Vega chocolate protein, 3/4 cup frozen strawberries, one banana, 1 scoop raw cacao and 1 cup light chocolate soy milk in a blender. So far my physical activity involves lugging a 25lb dumbbell in a mall while shopping. Last one in its size, and on sale until tomorrow. Why I didn't buy it last I'll never know.
  18. I have a problem keeping it to one post a day. I don't think you're going to get rid of me anytime soon either.
  19. It's strange, losing weight actually made me lose some of my ab definition and it wasn't until I switched up my workout program that I began having it show again.
  20. Did another 30 pushups, just because. Food log: Breakfast: 1 scoop chocolate Vega Whole Meal Optimizer, 1 scoop chocolate Vega protein, 3/4 cup strawberries, 1 cup light chocolaate soy milk Lunch: 5 clementines and fruit protein smoothies consisting of 1 cup mint chocolate soy milk, 1 scoop chocolate Sunwarrior protein, 1 banana, 3/4 cup mixed berries, 1 scoop raw cacao powder Dinner: 1 salad made with green and red kale, baby spinach, oil free hummus, roasted salted pepitas, sunflower seeds, and Annie Organics Goddess dressing Snack: 1 cup unsweetened soy milk, 1 banana, 3/4 cup pineapple chunks, 1 TB natural almond butter, 1 scoop Sunwarrior vanilla protein I tried eating two small oatmeal cookies. Big mistake, not doing that again. Tummy not happy. It apparently prefers all the healthy stuff now. Okay then.
  21. Just did 30 pushups on my toes just to see how I'd feel afterward. I feel great! I love the fact that I a) am getting over this little bug VERY fast and b) am deprogramming myself from craving unhealthy comfort foods when sick. All I've been eating are fruits, fruit protein smoothies, Vega smoothies, and veggie and tofu soups. I will never be completely raw but I really do think that a mostly raw food diet is good for me. I just feel better on it. It also helps me to curb eating certain foods which are a) not good for me and/or b) my body doesn't like.
  22. Last night I actually did not require 12 hours of sleep and felt like I actually slept enough, woke up normal time. That's good! My Boston Organics shipment arrives today, I am crossing my fingers it has kale Eating lots of fruit, fruit protein smoothies, Vega, Sunwarrior, last night was soup--tofu and veggies, omnomnom, plus rice noodles. Feeling better but not quite at 100%. I'm going to give yoga X or Fountain of Youth's shorter version of it a try tonight, that's usually the best thing.
  23. I am definitely coming down with something. I loaded up on fruit, fruit smoothies, liquids, and soups yesterday as I had a pounding headache, a mild fever, and just kept sleeping and sleeping. I feel loads better today and plan to do something awesome in my fitness room/basement but not so awesome I relapse. I truly hate this time of year with a passion.
  24. I'm contemplating it or something like it, yeah. Maybe just juice, raw fruits, something. Stomach is still in amazing amounts of ow.
